Points Scoreboard Update

With the elimination of Ben Savage from the event as the final representative of the Live Team, the final points score from the day can now be calculated. Regardless of the remaining results today, the Online Team will be taking a huge lead into tomorrow's Shootout portion of the event.

Online Team: 690 points
Live Team: 180 points

We'll have the full breakdown of points at the end of the day.

The Big SiCkO Advances

Ben Savage and the Live Team bite the dust
Ben Savage and the Live Team bite the dust
Michael Guzzardi has advanced to the semi-final after eliminating the final Live Team member Ben Savage.

Savage limped up, and Guzzardi popped it to 600 with Savage making the call. The {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Spades} flop saw Guzzardi fire out 600 and Savage pop it to 1,500. Guzzardi moved over the top with enough to put Savage all in and he made the call.

Guzzardi tabled {Q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a flopped two pair, unfortunately for Savage he had also flopped two pair with {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

The {2-Spades} turn and {a-Hearts} river didn't get Savage the outs he needed, so he hit the rail as the final Live Team member.

It Started as a Challenge...

It started out as a challenge but has ended in domination. However it's not over just yet, and there's plenty of spirit still left in the live team with bragging rights on the line. Here's a closer look at the rivalries that started the day that have now ended in tears.

Graham Surrenders; Nathan Advances

Jarred Graham Eliminated
Jarred Graham Eliminated
Jarred Graham has decided that he has bigger fish to fry. Keen to move over to a big game which has started in the high limit area of the Crown Poker Room, Graham started moving all in blind without looking at his cards.

In the first hand he called an all in with {J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and was dominated by Rayan Nathan's {K-Spades}{J-Spades}. Graham flopped the lead but ultimately it was a chop on the {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} board.

Next hand Graham shoved {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and was called by Nathan's {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. The board bricked out {J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and just like that it was all over!

Graham departs and Nathan makes it through to the semi-finals and the cash in a 2-0 result.

Nathan Dents Graham

After what appeared to be a standard opening raise by Rayan Nathan, Jarred Graham decided to ship all of his stack into the middle in a huge overbet. Nathan started the hand with 7,750 chips and decided to make the big call.

Graham: {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Nathan: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Nathan was ahead with the pair, and it remained that way when the board ran out {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Nathan is now up over 15,000 chips and has one eye on a semi-finals berth.

Guzzardi Flush With Chips

Ben Savage limped the button before calling the raise of 275 from Michael Guzzardi.

They saw a flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Guzzardi led for 375. Savage made the call. The turn was the {J-Spades} and Guzzardi fired again, this time for 1,100. Savage again made the call.

The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Guzzardi released a third barrel worth 3,625. Savage thought for a few moments before looking him up, but mucked when Guzzardi revealed {7-Spades}{9-Spades} for the flush. Savage is down to 5,600 in chips.

Guzzardi Leads 1-0

Michael Guzzardi has taken a 1-0 advantage in his quarter-final match against Ben Savage.

Savage moved in with {k-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Guzzardi made the call with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades} to give both players trips, but Guzzardi's ace kicker played.

It will be interesting to see if Savage can fight back from the 1-0 deficit.
