It's fair to say that this year's PokerNews Cup Main Event Day 1a flight will go down in history as one of the most star-studded, action-packed and fun-filled day ones that Australia has ever seen!

171 players took to the felt and 49 will return on Sunday for Day 2. Sydney's Sammy Khouiss has emerged on top of the counts with 144,900. In second place and biting at Khouiss' heels is Trevor Henry on 135,500, followed by Grant Levy (133,100), Michael Pedley (124,000) and Ali Ghezelbash (122,000).

Other big names to have survived the carnage include Jarred 'FlopNutsOnYou' Graham (121,100), Robert Wang (98,000), Ben Savage (93,000), Julian Powell (88,000), Ben 'CNT_CRUSHER' Delaney (70,000), Andrew 'Adgee' Jeffreys (68,000) and Lisa Walsh (53,000).
