The action at the tables is fast and furious, as there have already been three seat open. Since players can reenter until the end of level 11, some take their shots early on to bust or get a fresh stack. Among those on their second bullet is also Clyde Terlaan.
The Dutchman smiled and added "the flop was nice, the rest not so much." He is back in action now on a new table.
A player in late position raised to 350 and Bo Nesgaard called from the hijack. The cutoff then three-bet to 1,200 and both the initial raiser and Nesgaard called.
On the flop of , the action checked to the cutoff who bet 2,100. The initial raiser called and Nesgaard then check-raised to 6,000. Both opponents folded and the Dane flashed for top pair and the nut flush draw.
Yet another big pot emerged with Aleksei Ivanov in the middle of the action and the board is already completed, reading . There are more than 20,000 in the pot already and Ivanov bet 6,000.
From one seat over, Constantine Gorinson called and the third player in the pot took some time before making his decision. "I know you have pocket tens," he added and then tossed in the chips right after. Gorinson turned over for queens full, while Ivanov mucked and the other player mucked his for a flopped straight that was no good anymore.
"It's Day 1a, gotta get the stacks in," Sebastian Langrock shrugged and smiled while taking a quick break from the table. After playing many hands early on, the aggressiveness of his opponents paid off and Langrock almost doubled his stack thus far. This may or may not change very quickly though, he admitted. "Just stay on this table, the action is crazy."
The Main Event of the PokerNews Cup in the King's Casino is off to a great start, as the screens now show 102 entries. Last year when the event took place at the same venue, Day 1a attracted 98 entries and that number has already been eclipsed. With late registration still open, expect the overall number of entries for the first flight to climb further.
Alain Riss was the initial raiser from early position and Paulius Zilinskas remained in the hand from the cutoff. Both players saw a turn of and Riss checked. Zilinskas bet 2,200 and Riss called. The river completed the board and Riss checked.
Zilinskas checked behind and then showed for a straight, adding "bad river." Riss replied "bad turn for me" and shook his head.
Tippy333 doubled up his stack early on and finished second in the Opening Event last night already. He then proceeded to lose some chips before getting into another hand.
Around 4,500 chips were in the middle with the flop showing and Tippy333 checked in the hijack. The cutoff bet 2,700 and Tippy333 then check-raised to 7,000. That eventually proved to be enough to win the pot, as the cutoff folded.
"Another full house, huh?" one player at the table joked right when Lukasz Kubicki raised to 500 from under the gun. Kubicki had busted one player very early and sent another opponent to the rail the hand before.
This time, there wasn't as much action, as the big blind just called. On the flop, the big blind checked and Kubicki continued for 500. His opponent called, then check-folded the turn to a second barrel. As of right now, Kubicki appears to be the chip leader with close to three times the starting stack.
