Tippy333 Loses a Flip

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

"Wow, insta call. Well, if you know it is coming, it makes sense," Tippy333 said. In a coin flip and battle of the nick names, "Kater Carlo" doubled up through him after calling off his remaining stack of 12,925 before the flop with {10-Spades}{9-Spades}. Tippy333 was ahead with {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, but the board ran out {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} to give his opponent trips tens.

Kubicki Thriving

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

"Another full house, huh?" one player at the table joked right when Lukasz Kubicki raised to 500 from under the gun. Kubicki had busted one player very early and sent another opponent to the rail the hand before.

This time, there wasn't as much action, as the big blind just called. On the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, the big blind checked and Kubicki continued for 500. His opponent called, then check-folded the {A-Diamonds} turn to a second barrel. As of right now, Kubicki appears to be the chip leader with close to three times the starting stack.

Tippy333 Among Big Stacks

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Tippy333 doubled up his stack early on and finished second in the Opening Event last night already. He then proceeded to lose some chips before getting into another hand.

Around 4,500 chips were in the middle with the flop showing {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} and Tippy333 checked in the hijack. The cutoff bet 2,700 and Tippy333 then check-raised to 7,000. That eventually proved to be enough to win the pot, as the cutoff folded.

Bad Turn, Bad River, Some Chips for Zilinskas

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Alain Riss was the initial raiser from early position and Paulius Zilinskas remained in the hand from the cutoff. Both players saw a turn of {K-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Riss checked. Zilinskas bet 2,200 and Riss called. The {A-Hearts} river completed the board and Riss checked.

Zilinskas checked behind and then showed {A-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a straight, adding "bad river." Riss replied "bad turn for me" and shook his head.

More than 100 Entries Already

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The Main Event of the PokerNews Cup in the King's Casino is off to a great start, as the screens now show 102 entries. Last year when the event took place at the same venue, Day 1a attracted 98 entries and that number has already been eclipsed. With late registration still open, expect the overall number of entries for the first flight to climb further.

Sebastian Langrock Chipping Up

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

"It's Day 1a, gotta get the stacks in," Sebastian Langrock shrugged and smiled while taking a quick break from the table. After playing many hands early on, the aggressiveness of his opponents paid off and Langrock almost doubled his stack thus far. This may or may not change very quickly though, he admitted. "Just stay on this table, the action is crazy."
