Down to 30 Players

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Alexander Rettenbacher
Alexander Rettenbacher

Giacinto Vammacegna and Alexander Rettenbacher have been eliminated.

Rettenbacher was with his short stack in the big blind and Simon Böllinger open-shoved in the small blind. Rettenbacher called off and had the slightly worse kicker.

Rettenbacher: {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Böllinger: {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

On the {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Böllinger paired his jack, but Rettenbacher picked up a double gutshot on the {7-Clubs} turn. The {4-Hearts} river blanked and the Austrian was eliminated.

Mehmet Aslan and Clyde Terlaan Eliminated

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Mehmet Aslan
Mehmet Aslan

Another two players busted at almost the same time and on different tables. Clyde Terlaan had been grinding a below-average stack for quite some time and the same also applied to Mehmet Aslan. The latter was then all in out of the big blind and initial raiser Jochen Werner as well as Karol Janiszewski in the small blind called.

The two remaining active players checked down the board of {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Aslan showed {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, Werner flashed {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Janiszewski mucked the {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Aslan headed to the payout desk.

Roman Motovsky Runs into Kings

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Roman Motovsky
Roman Motovsky

The biggest pot of the tournament thus far has seen the departure of Roman Motovsky, who had been a big stack for most of the day. He four-bet all in for around one million in chips with ace-king and Jiří Chládek looked him up with the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} from one seat over in the cutoff.

After a board of {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}, Chládek let out a loud "yessss" and jumped into the lead.

Alexander Rettenbacher Doubles

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Alexander Rettenbacher was still rambling about the previous big hand when Antonio Rubiano Prada shoved the button. Rettenbacher called in the big blind for 160,000 with {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and faced the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} of Prada. After a blank board of {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}, the Austrian doubled.

Simon Böllinger has moved from almost zero to hero within the span of half an hour. He first tripled up, then won another pot and just busted Gilbert Asmowidjojo. Böllinger open-shoved the button and Asmowidjojo called in the big blind for around 400,000.

Asmowidjojo: {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Böllinger: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{Q-Spades}{K-Spades} and the queen on the turn improved Böllinger.

Big Double for Francisco Arce

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Dragan Zarić and Steffen Reimer have been eliminated while Alexander Rettenbacher's stack has melted to all but seven big blinds.

Rettenbacher raised from the button and picked up one caller in Francisco Arce out of the big blind. The Spaniard check-called a bet of 75,000 on the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop before getting his stack in on the {10-Hearts} turn. That card had improved both players and Rettenbacher was on the wrong end of it.

Arce: {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Rettenbacher: {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The {3-Clubs} river was a blank and Arce doubled, while Rettenbacher wasn't pleased at all.

Another double for Tezer Cetindag

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Francisco Arce raised and then quickly called the shove of Tezer Cetindag with {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Cetindag was ahead with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and banged on the table after the board had run out {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}. He doubled for 215,000 and soon after took another smaller pot to boost his stack

Lelek: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Magic Man 558: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Lelek doubled, Magic Man remains a big stack.
