Clash of the Pocket Pairs

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

A player in middle position raised to 700 and got two callers; Goga 27 from the hijack and the player on the button. The initial raiser continued for 1,500 on the {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and Goga 27 was the only caller.

The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and the player continued the aggression betting 2,500. Goga 27 called. The river was the {7-Hearts} and this time Goga 27's opponent check-called a bet of 3,000. Goga 27 showed {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} and his opponent flashed {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} before mucking.

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Paul van Alst
Paul van Alst

Airidas Stažys and Paul van Alst got into a raising war and the former clicked it up to 10,000 before van Alst reshoved with the slightly inferior stack. Stažys quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Paul van Alst: {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Airidas Stažys: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board came {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and van Alst improved to a full house to double for massive 42,625. He left Stažys with just 3,000 and the Lithuanian busted shortly after to become the second casualty of Day 1b.

Votkin and van Alst lead the Field

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

There was no seat open yet, while Asmo Votkin and Paul van Alst almost doubled their stacks already at the start of level three. The latter bet the {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Spades} river for 6,500 from the small blind with more than 11,000 already in the middle. Tekman sighed and said "okay I believe you" before mucking his cards.

Van Alst replied with "you shouldn't" before flashing {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. "You didn't have an ace," the Dutchman continued while he raked in the pot.
