Darren Kramer Wins!

Darren Kramer limps in and Chris Convery is all in for his last 1,020,000. Kramer asks for a count and agonizes over the decision, talking his way through the hand. Finally, Kramer calls with {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Convery turns over a bluff - {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The flop is {5-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Convery picks up a pair. The turn is {7-Clubs} and Kramer has a straight draw. The river is the killer {8-Diamonds}, Kramer makes his straight to complete the roller coaster, and wins the South African Poker Open!
Kramer takes home 1,100,000 in South African rand, or $140,575. Convery wins R749,839, or $95,826.

Thanks to Thomas Nader, director of poker operations; the All Africa Poker television staff; the other poker staff members and executives, Montecasino, and PokerNews. The next South African Poker Open is in September. This event next year will be known only as the PokerNews Cup. So long from Johannesburg!
