Hanna Makes a Move with Eight-Four, Busts

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Frederico Spilimbergo Volpe
Frederico Spilimbergo Volpe

Georges Hanna opened from middle position and Frederico Spilimbergo Volpe in the cutoff and Dimitrios Michailidis in the big blind both called.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Michailidis checked. Hanna bet 25,000 and Volpe called, Michailidis folded.

With the {4-Clubs} landing on the turn, Hanna checked. Volpe bet 75,000 and Hanna check raised to 200,000. Volpe called.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board and Hanna announced all in, shoving for about 400,000. Volpe asked for confirmation that his opponent was indeed all in, and called upon getting confirmation. Since Volpe had 425,000 behind at that point, Hanna was the one all in.

Hanna hit the table with his fist, reason enough for Volpe to know for sure his {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} was good. Hanna mucked, but the dealer revealed his hand to be {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Nichols and Van Putten Eliminated

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Terry Nichols got his last chips in with the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} and was called by Philippe D'Auteuil with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. The board of {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} brought no surprise and Nichols was gone.

At the payout desk, Jasper Meijer van Putten followed right after Nichols and said he was unable to hold up with ace-king against the ace-jack of Martin Aasen Lunde. His previous table has a host of big names with plenty of chips and they can be found below.

Chen Doubles Petrangelo, Busts Maltez

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Anatoly Chen lost a massive pot to Nick Petrangelo first. He opened the cutoff for 13,000 and called Petrangelo's big blind shove for 207,000 total. Chen had the best hand with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} but saw Petrangelo river the {A-Spades} with his {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}.

Not much later, though, he busted his neighbor Fabrice Maltez. The 2 got it in before the flop with Chen (under the gun) in possession of {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} while Maltez had {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The board ran out {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Chen won some back.

Manole No More; Munoz Melts Him

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Mihai Manole was spotted heading to the rail and the cards at his former table were still showing while the chips were sent over to the other side of the table. Manole was all in with pocket fives and Ramon Miquel Munoz had that dominated with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The board came {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and while Manole flopped a set, it was no good against the rivered straight of Munoz.

Karapanau Doubles; Busts After

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ryhor Karapanau doubled for 134,000 with {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds} against the {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of Dmitry Yurasov thanks to a board of {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and the kicker played.

Soon after, Alex Difelice called a raise by the player in under the gun and Karapanau three-bet out of the big blind. The initial raiser folded but Difelice moved all in for effectively 240,000, which Karapanu called.

Ryhor Karapanau: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
