Caines Can't Catch a Card

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Corey Hochman raised to 800 from early position and PokerStars qualifier Amanda Caines looked at the one blue and one white chip left in her hand while a pink one was already in for the small blind. She tossed in the rest, making it 1,600. Hochman made the quick call.

Caines: {a-}{2-}
Hochman: {k-}{9-}

Caines still had live cards and a hope to double, but a king on the flop foreshadowed her demise. She never improved, finding herself eliminated once the board ran out.

Chips for Chen

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

James Chen raised to 1,000 from early position and got calls from three players. They saw a four-handed flop of {7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Action checked to Chen and he checked too, allowing the player in the cutoff to bet 2,450. One player called and one player folded before it came back to Chen and he thought for a moment and tossed in two yellows: 10,000. Both remaining opponents folded, giving Chen the pot.

Yu and Egan Give Up a Big Pot

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Winfred Yu raised to 1,000 from middle position and Zhenru Xie called on his left. Michael Egan was the third player to call, doing so from the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Egan checked. Yu continued for 1,300 and Xie called.

Action was on Egan and he raised to 5,500. Yu folded and Xie went in the tank, ultimately three-betting to 15,500 and leaving himself about 20,000 behind. Egan called.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and both players checked. The river was the {q-Clubs} and Egan checked again. Xie bet 10,000 and Egan slapped his cards face down on the table to fold, giving the pot to Xie. Meanwhile, Yu bemoaned the fact that he had folded {a-}{q-} and would've made a straight on the turn.
