Kitai Makes a Tough Call

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

There was about 10,000 in the pot on a board reading {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Kamal Abdel Bittar was in the small blind and Davidi Kitai was in the big blind. Bittar checked his option on the river, and Kitai bet 14,200.

Bittar thought for a moment and check-raised to 35,000. Kitai went into the tank and looked very uncomfortable. Eventually, another player at the table called the clock.

With about seven seconds left to act, Kitai called. Bittar had a disappointed look on his face as he tabled {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for two pair, jacks and tens.

Kitai excitedly showed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for aces up and scooped the pot.

Dario Sammartino

Aleks Dimitrov opened the button for 2,300 and small blind Bryn Kenney three-bet to 7,400. Big blind Dario Sammartino opted to cold four-bet shove for what appeared to be 50,000. Dimitrov folded, Kenney called instantly.

Bryn Kenney: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Dario Sammartino: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board came {9-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Sammartino hit the rail.

Sam Greenwood Leads; Reixach Hits the Rail

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 2,500 from the hijack and Sergi Reixach called for less after he was left with just 1,700 chips in a pot in the previous hand.

Greenwood tabled {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Reixach showed {j-Spades}{8-Spades}.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Reixach was eliminated

Greenwood now has a commanding lead of the field.

Set Over Set for Schillhabel and Koon

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With about 8,000 in the pot, on a board reading {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{4-Spades}, Jason Koon checked from the big blind.

Stefan Schillhabel was in the cutoff ad bet 4,500. Koon thought for a moment and then called.

The river was the {5-Clubs}. Koon checked, and Schillhabel went all in. Koon basically beat him into the pot and called.

Schillhabel tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a set of jacks, but to his disappointment, Koon showed {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for a set of kings and sent him to the rail.

Ramos Takes From Bicknell

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We caught the action on the flop as the big blind checked on {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Kristen Bicknell, seated in the cutoff, bet 2,500 and Felipe Ramos on the button and the player in the big blind both called. The big blind checked again on the {Q-Clubs} turn and Bicknell bet 11,500. Ramos called, the big blind folded. The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Bicknell checked. Ramos moved in and Bicknell instantly folded.

Chen Doubles

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Andrew Chen got his last 24,300 in on a board of {5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Chen, seated in the hijack, got it in against the small blind who showed {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Chen needed to dodge the jacks, aces and eights, and did exactly that with the {9-Clubs} on the river. Full double for Chen.
