Kitai Makes a Tough Call

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

There was about 10,000 in the pot on a board reading {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Kamal Abdel Bittar was in the small blind and Davidi Kitai was in the big blind. Bittar checked his option on the river, and Kitai bet 14,200.

Bittar thought for a moment and check-raised to 35,000. Kitai went into the tank and looked very uncomfortable. Eventually, another player at the table called the clock.

With about seven seconds left to act, Kitai called. Bittar had a disappointed look on his face as he tabled {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for two pair, jacks and tens.

Kitai excitedly showed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for aces up and scooped the pot.

McDonald Makes an Exit

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mike McDonald had about 22,500 left and managed to get it in the middle with Bryn Kenney before the flop.

McDonald tabled {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Kenney slowly rolled over {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, revealing one card at a time. "That's a good hand," said McDonald.

The board ran out {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and McDonald was out the door late in Day 1.

Bonomo Doubles

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Seated in the hijack, Justin Bonomo opened for 2,700. Small blind Martin Jacobson glanced over to Bonomo's stack, and three-bet - though we didn't hear how much he made it. Big blind David Peters folded.

Bonomo didn't need long to make up his mind and he shoved for 19,900. Jacobson called.

Justin Bonomo: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Martin Jacobson: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The {J-Spades} appeared in the window but the {K-Hearts} and {3-Clubs} followed. Bonomo scored the doubled after {4-Clubs} hit the turn and {3-Diamonds} completed the board.

Stuer Isn't Staying

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Action folded around to Pedro Idrovo in the cutoff and he raised to 3,000. Julian Stuer was in the small blind and he decided to three-bet to 11,100. Idrovo called.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Stuer led out for 7,500. Idrovo called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Stuer checked this time, and Idrovo bet 10,000. Stuer called.

The river was the {a-Hearts}. Stuer quickly checked and Idrovo thought for a full minute before deciding to move all in. Stuer thought about it and called.

"I have an ace," said Idrovo, tabling {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Stuer looked disappointed and mucked his cards, sending him to the rail.
