McDonald and Guerrero Face Off and Stare Down

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Over on one of the outer tables, a pot worth about 8,000 chips was brewing. The board read {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Jimmy Guerrero checked his option from the small blind.

Mike McDonald was in the hijack and thought about his option for a full minute before deciding to bet 3,000. Guerrero and McDonald stared at each other for a good while before Guerrero decided to call.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds}. Guerrero quickly checked, and McDonald went back into the tank for a while. Eventually, he bet 4,000. Guerrero now thought for over a minute and eventually flashed the {9-Spades} before folding. He said, "Come on. Show."

McDonald replied, "If I was bluffing I would show."

After a few more exchanges, Guerrero claimed to have had ace-nine of spades. McDonald said, "No you didn't. I had the ace of spades." The table broke and both players went their separate ways.

Lander Lands on the Rail

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Action folded around to Mike McDonald in late position and he raised to 1,400. Lijo Lander was in the cutoff and moved all in for 14,000.

Rumen Nanev was on the button and called. McDonald thought for a moment but folded.

Nanev: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Lander: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Lander was eliminated.

Finger Won't Call It Off; Ladouceur Eliminated

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Martin Finger had a bet of what turned out to be 2,000 in front of him on the button, with {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades} on the felt. An opponent in early position had check-raised all in, putting Finger at risk for his remaining 20,600. Finger thought a long time then sighed and folded, flashing the {a-Clubs}. His opponent wouldn't do him the courtesy of showing one, as Finger asked.

At the same table, Marc-Andre Ladouceur, who went to dinner short-stacked, appears to have been eliminated.

The Canadians Are Battling

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

On a board reading {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}, with about 5,000 in the pot up for grabs, the small blind checked and Erik Cajelais bet 2,300.

Ari Engel was on the button and decided to call. The small blind folded.

The river was the {9-Spades}. Cajelais decided to check, and Engel quickly checked back.

Cajelais tabled {j-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair and Engel mucked his cards.

The two Canadians may have a reputation for being nice, but they certainly won't be apologizing for taking the other down should it come to that.
