Weis No More

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Oliver Weis
Oliver Weis

Oliver Weis moved all in for his last 77,000 and Julian Thomas called from two seats over in the hijack. "I only saw one card, an ace," Weis said in German while the other tables were still going on, and the showdown then took place as follows.

Julian Thomas: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Oliver Weis: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

On the {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Weis said "that's not good," and he was drawing dead on the {3-Spades} turn to make the {6-Hearts} river a formality. There are now 30 players remaining and the top 27 make the money.

Muehloecker Flushes Sontheimer; Boika Busts Goldberg

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Thomas Muehloecker raised from under the gun and Steffen Sontheimer called in the cutoff. Muehloecker then proceeded to fire three barrels worth 24,000 on the {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, 65,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} turn and 135,000 on the {5-Clubs} river. Sontheimer called each of the bets and mucked when Muehloecker flashed {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flush.

The next hand, Emil Patel raised to 21,000 and Sontheimer three-bet shoved for 130,000 from one seat over to claim the pot uncontested.

At the same time on table three, Alain Goldberg shoved for 54,000 and Aliaksei Boika eventually called in the big blind.

Alain Goldberg: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Aliaksei Boika: {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop gave Boika the lead, and the {2-Clubs} turn and {Q-Hearts} river were two blanks to eliminate Goldberg.

John Juanda
John Juanda

John Juanda raised to 18,000 under the gun, Pavel Plesuv called and Julian Thomas defended his big blind. Juanda continued 30,000 on a {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop with Plesuv as the only caller.

Juanda checked the {K-Hearts} turn, Plesuv bet 48,000, Juanda check-raised all in and Plesuv folded quickly.

A Double and a Triple Up

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Timothy Adams shoved his short stack and was called by Dmitry Yurasov on the button and Ekrem Sanioglu in the small blind. Both active players checked down the board {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Adams showed {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Yurasov had the {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Sanioglu only {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

At the same time over on table four, John Juanda raised and Pavel Plesuv shoved the button to put ultimate pressure on the short stacks in the blinds and Juanda. The latter, however, called for his last 131,000 and the showdown took place after Adams' tripled up.

John Juanda: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Pavel Plesuv: {K-Spades}{j-Spades}

There was no sweat on the board {Q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and there are still 32 players remaining.

As a result, Alain Goldberg has become the shortest stack, in a recent hand he check-folded a flop of {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop against the bet of Aliaksei Boika.

Kurganov Doubles

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On a board of {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}, Oliver Weis faced a bet worth 24,000 by Adrian Mateos and opted to raise to 80,000, which the Spaniard called. Weis tabled {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a pair of queens and Mateos had that beat with {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

At the same time on table one, Dmitry Yurasov had raised, then called the shove of Igor Kurganov for 37,000. They were waiting for all tables to be finished and then the cards were turned over.

Igor Kurganov: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Dmitry Yurasov: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board came {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Kurganov doubled.
