Metaal Triples

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Govert Metaal was all in and received calls from Vladimir Shabalin and Ole Schemion. The two active players checked it down on a {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades} board.

Metaal showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for the flopped flush and both Shabalin and Schemion mucked.

Simao Four-bets; Peters Sits In

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Martin Kus raised to 2,500 under the gun. Start-of-the-day chipleader Oleksii Khoroshenin three-bet to 8,500 from the small blind. Joao Simao four-bet to 22,500 from the big blind and Kus folded.

While Khoroshenin was considering his options, David Peters has reentered and took the open seat between Khoroshenin and Simao with his fresh stack of 50,000. Khoroshenin gave it some more thought, then folded.

Fast Eliminated; Kurganov Decimated

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Dietrich Fast won't be able re-enter anymore after busting his second bullet. Fast limped in from the small blind and faced the likes of Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. On the {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} turn, Fast check-called a bet of 3,000 with 7,700 behind and then checked the {2-Diamonds} river.

Negreanu bet enough to give Fast all but two opponents and the German eventually called it off for less than eight big blinds. Negreanu flipped over {J-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for two pair, and Fast mucked the {10-Spades}{4-Hearts} for third pair.

One table over, Scott Margereson and Igor Kurganov got into a raising war in a battle button versus small blind. Margereson ended up as the player at risk for 40,800 with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Kurganov flipped over the inferior {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. There was no surprise on the {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board and Kurganov was left short in chips.

More Entries and Bustouts

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Ami Barer and Christoph Vogelsang are back in while Lander Lijo, Lucas Reeves, Robert Heidorn and Keven Stammen have been eliminated. Stammen three-bet shoved blind on blind for around 20 big blinds with ace-queen and initial raiser Josip Simunic called with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The flop came {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and neither turn nor river provided an ace or queen for Stammen.

Simao Scores Big Double Through Khoroshenin

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Joao Simao
Joao Simao

In the cutoff, Oleksii Khoroshenin raised to 2,300 and Joao Simao three-bet to 7,000 in the small blind, which Simao called. On the {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Simao check-called a bet of 22,000 and did so again for 17,000 on the {A-Diamonds} turn.

The {6-Hearts} river completed the board and Simao checked the third street in a row. Khoroshenin shoved for effective 72,800, as that's what Simao had left, and the Brazilian called with {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Khoroshenin briefly showed his cards but failed to beat Simao, forfeiting a big portion of his stack.

Three-way Clash Leaves Hartmann Short

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Pascal Hartmann, Ramin Hajiyev and Sylvain Loosli had already built a substantial pot on a {K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop, which ended up with the latter all-in in a 120,000 pot.

On the {Q-Clubs} turn, Hajiyev wasted no time putting his remaining stack of 38,500 in. Hartmann instantly flung a time bank chip in the middle, giving him ample time to think. Hartmann needed another one to come to a decision, then put his stack in with a loud thumb.

Pascal Hartmann: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Sylvain Loosli: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Ramin Hajiyev: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}

Hartmann was visibly disgusted after seeing both other hands shown down. Hajiyev cheered for the board pair to win it all.

The {Q-Clubs} on the river secured the main pot for Loosli and gave the side pot to Hajiyev. Hartmann was left with just 3,400, which he doubled against Hajiyev the hand after.
