Nardin With the Jack-Eight

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Michael Kolkowicz opened the hijack for 78,000 and his neighbor Romain Nardin in the cutoff three-bet to 205,000. Action was back on Kolkowicz soon enough and he tanked for a bit before he called.

{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{K-Spades} on the flop and Kolkowicz and Nardin both checked to keep the pot at 474,000. The {10-Spades} hit the turn and Kolkowicz bet 125,000. Nardin called.

The {A-Clubs} on the river saw Kolkowicz check. Nardin thought about it for some time before he checked behind. Michael Kolkowicz showed {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, the pot went to Nardin who tabled {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for fourth pair.

Douglas Ferreira Souza got his last 599,000 in preflop with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}, but Andreas Klatt had him beat with {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. The board ran out {3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, keeping the kings best. Klatt could hardly have dreamed up a better start to this Day 5, as he's now over 2 million chips after picking up overpairs for two knockouts.
