Pavel Shirshikov Flops a Straight

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Pavel Shirshikov raised to 7,500 from early position and Andrey Razov defended his big blind.

The flop came {10-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs} and both players checked and saw the {a-Diamonds} dealt on the turn. Razov check-called a bet of 8,000 from Shirshkiov and the river was the {9-Spades}.

Razov checked again and Shirshkiov announced a bet of 12,000 and Razov quickly called.

"Queen," Shirshikov announced, and rolled over {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} not just for a straight but for a flopped nut straight. He now sits with just under 300,000 in chips.
