Andrey Sakolishch Takes A Pot From Moneymaker

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Chris Moneymaker was a minute or two late back from the dinner break and was straight into the action raising to 1,500 from middle position. Andrey Sakolishch three-bet out of the small blind to 3,500 and Moneymaker made the call.

The flop of {7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Clubs} was checked to see the {4-Clubs} hit the turn. Sakolishch led out for 4,000 and Moneymaker stuck around.

The river card was the {4-Hearts} and neither player was inclined to put anymore chips in the pot. Sakolishch showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for top pair and that was good enough.

Aubakirov vs Arbatskii

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

When their table restarted after dinner, Ivan Arbatskii was the only one sitting and the dealer started shuffling. Just in time, Daniyar Aubakirov arrived in his big blind and Arbatskii limped in from the small blind with Aubakirov checking behind. The flop fell {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Arbatskii check-called a bet of 600.

After the {J-Hearts} turn, Arbatskii check-called 1,600 before the {10-Clubs} river was checked through. Arbatskii showed {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and that won the pot.

Action folded to Igor Dimitrijevic in the small blind who opened for 1,400. Ilya Sumzin in the big blind raised him to 3,700 and Dimitrijevic called.

The flop was {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} and both players checked. The turn card {2-Diamonds} didn’t see any action either and the river {6-Diamonds} completed the board.

Dimitrijevic bet a small 1,500 and Sumzin tossed out the call.

Dimitrijevic tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Sumzin had the clear winner with {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Kovalenko Cuts Down Davydov

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

The last few levels have not been as pleasant for Denis Davydov, and the latest hand saw him drop below the starting stack while two players that arrived at his table not long ago took over control. Those two new faces on the table belong to Yehor Filipenko and Pavel Kovalenko, and the latter was the one taking chips off Davydov.

After a raise to 1,000 by Davydov, Kovalenko three-bet to 3,500 from the cutoff and Davydov called. The flop fell {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and the duo checked before Davydov check-called a bet worth 4,300 by Kovalenko after the {10-Diamonds} turn. On the {Q-Spades} river, Davidov checked the third street in a row and Kovalenko bet 11,500. That proved to be too much for Davidov and he folded.

Checking In On Team PokerStars Pros

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Team PokerStars Pros Chris Moneymaker and Felipe Ramos have been sat beside each other since the Brazilian Pro entered and the contrast in styles on this particular day has been interesting.

Ramos has been playing many more hands than Moneymaker as the two have been joshing each other about not putting in their antes and occasionally discussing hand ranges. No doubt the fact Ramos has position on Moneymaker is cramping his style but in a recent hand Moneymaker opened from under the gun for 1,200.

A late position caller and the small blind joined the pot to see a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Checked to the raiser, Moneymaker continued for 2,000 and picked up the pot.
