Set is Good for Christofer Cancino

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Joaquin Earcena was under the gun and limped in. Cristofer Cancino called from early position, as did the button and the small blind. The big blind checked.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the small blind moved all in for 11,400. The big blind folded, as did Earcena. Cancino called and the button laid down his hand.

Cancino tabled {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a set of two's. The all-in player mucked his hand before the turn was shown and left the table.

The dealer ran out the rest of the board, which was the {k-Hearts} and then the {a-Spades}, and Cancino collected the pot.

Caio Almeida Gets a Full Double

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Action folded to the player in the cutoff and he decided to limp in. Caio Almeida was in the small blind and raised to 3,000. The cutoff called.

The flop was {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and both players checked to the turn, which was the {5-Spades}.

Almeida checked and the cutoff bet 6,000. Almeida then check-raised all in for 14,800 and was called.

Almeida tabled {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} for a queen-high flush and the cutoff showed {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for an eight-high flush. The cutoff was drawing dead to the river, which was the {k-Hearts} and Almeida got a crucial double up.

Guillermo Castagnino Triples Up

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player in early position limped in, as did the players in the hijack and the cutoff. Kevin He was in the small blind and raised to 3,700. Guillermo Castagnino was in the big blind and moved all in for 6,200. The early-position player called, as did He.

The flop came {k-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the player in early position reached for a fistful of chips. He had not acted yet, but opted to check. The early-position player bet 6,000 and He open-folded {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. His opponent tabled {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, but Castagnino showed {5-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds}, and He threw his hands up in frustration, as he would have turned a one-outer for a bigger set.

The river was the {9-Hearts} and Castagnino more than tripled up.

Jorge Teodoulou Climbs to the Top

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

Ezequiel Waigel was just seen exiting the Ballroom, and Jorge Teodoulou was seen stacking a mountain of chips, good for the chip lead late in Day 1b.

Teodoulou turned two pair with nine-eight suited, on a board reading {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-}{8-Spades}, and he called Waigel's shove for about 50,000. Waigel tabled {a-}{6-Spades} for a straight flush draw, but the river was the {k-Clubs} and Teodoulou's two pair held, sending Waigel to the rail after he nursed a healthy stack all day.

Earcena tabled {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and the player on the button showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river was the {j-Spades}. Earcena's aces held and his opponent was eliminated.
