Behzad Zarnegar Claims the Lead of Turbo Heat 1d

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Behzad Zarnegar
Behzad Zarnegar

After three regular starting days without re-entry, the fourth and final flight of the 2017 PokerStars Festival Hamburg €1,100 Main Event gave all previously eliminated players the chance to take another shot at the guaranteed prize pool of €500,000. Once the registration was closed at the end of level six, the tournament screens showed an additional 114 entries and the total field size was boosted to 567 entries, surpassing the guarantee to create a prize pool of €549,990.

Once the bags were given out after 12 levels of 20 minutes each, only 50 hopefuls remained and Behzad Zarnegar emerged at the top of the counts with 191,600. The business man from Kiel has recorded most of his results here in the Casino Schenefeld and sent Soenke Jahn to the rail in the last level of the night when his seven-six suited bested the ace-queen of the German.

That pot helped Zarnegar to edge past Claudio Celenza (171,000) and Vedran Mandic (170,500), while Adriatik Agalliu (140,700), Ulrich Pauls (138,400) and Twitch streamer Murat Tuelek (136,300) all claimed above-average stacks for Day 2. Other notables that bagged up on Day 1d include Andrey Andreev (112,900), [Removed:19] (97,600), Martin Mulsow (62,000), Johnny Hansen (51,000) and Mick Graydon (43,600).

2015 Eureka Hamburg Main Event champion Tom Holke highlighted the first part of the day and was involved in almost every hand at his table. Holke's chips went on a roller coaster ride and it eventually came to a crashing end at the hands of Andrey Andreev. Right after sitting down the Russian doubled through Holke and finished him off some time later when calling the shove of Holke on the river of a paired queen-high board with four-three for second pair and no kicker. Holke was caught bluffing with ten-eight for a busted gutshot and joined the rail.

Andreev also sent Jan Timo Jobmann to the rail when flopping trips sevens with seven-six suited to crack the pocket jacks of the 2017 World Series of Poker International Circuit Rozvadov ring winner. Further notables to run out of chips entirely include Aleksandar Tomovic, Waldemar Kopyl, €2,200 High Roller champion Andre Haneberg, Nicholas Galtos, Thang Duc Nguyen and Jamila von Perger.

Andreev Takes Out Holke

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Andrey Andreev
Andrey Andreev

The PokerNews live reporting team saw Tom Holke get up from his table and went over there to see what had happened.

Andrey Andreev had {4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} in front of him on a {9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board and the pot was being awarded to him.

Hamza Miri was kind enough to recount what had happened: "That was an amazing pot. Holke raised to 5,500 for no reason and Andreev called from the button. I folded queen-nine in the big blind. The flop came nine-queen-nine and they both checked. The turn was the four. Holke bet 5,000 and Andreev called. The river was a three, Holke shoved for about 20,000 and Andreev snap-called with a four and the best kicker! Holke had ten-eight off-suit!"

While Miri was telling all of this, the whole table laughed.

Neurauter Busts to Mandic

Level 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Hannes Neurauter

Vedran Mandic raised to 1,700 at the end of the previous level and Alaettin Keles called from one seat over. Hannes Neurauter in the cutoff three-bet to 5,500 and Mandic clicked it up to 15,000, forcing out Keles. Neurauter moved all in for around 39,000 and Mandic quickly called.

Hannes Neurauter: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Vedran Mandic: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}

The board came {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Neurauter headed to the rail.

Seat Open for von Perger and Obravac

Level 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Jamila von Perger
Jamila von Perger

The move of Krunoslav Obravac with {7-Spades}{6-Hearts} went wrong on the table of Tom Holke, as Erik Scheidt didn't remotely think about folding his {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} preflop. There wasn't much of a sweat and Obravac was gone.

One table over, Johnny Hansen sent a short stack to the rail with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} versus {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} after the player at risk didn't pick up any help at all.

Furthermore, Jamila von Perger was also eliminated as well. On the {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts} turn, Salvatore Scarcella checked out of the big blind and von Perger bet 2,000 on the button. Scarcella check-raised to 6,000 and von Perger moved all in for around 20,000, which Scarcella quickly called.

Jamila von Perger: {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Salvatore Scarcella: {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

"Oh crap," von Perger said as soon as she spotted the straight of her opponent and the {8-Hearts} on the river failed to improve her.

The Holke Train Runs Hot

Level 4 : 150/300, 50 ante
Tom Holke
Tom Holke

Hand 1

On the three-way turn of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, Tom Holke checked out of the small blind and Korbinian Sonnenholzner bet 3,000 from early position. The third player in the hand folded and Holke called, before checking again the {J-Clubs} river. Sonnenholzner bet 3,000 and Holke quickly called and showed {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}, which Sonnenholzner had beat with {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. "So you really hit the king," Holke sighed, but he got his revenge right away.

Hand 2

One hand later, Sonnenholzner bet a three-way flop of {8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop for 1,800. Holke was the only caller on the button and Sonnenholzner continued for 4,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn, Holke called. After the {5-Diamonds} on the river, Sonnenholzner checked and Holke bet 10,000 before his opponent check-raised all in.

Holke quickly called and tabled {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for the straight, Sonnenholzner was caught bluffing with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and grabbed his beer before heading to the rail. Hamza Miri joked "don't worry, it has been like this the entire time. Those two played 28 out of the last 30 hands.
