Naohito Tamaya Climbing

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Goken Okawa raised to 5,200 from the hijack and Naohito Tamaya called from the small blind.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Tamaya checked. Okawa bet 7,000 and Tamaya called.

The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and Tamaya checked. Okawa bet again, 10,000 this time, and Tamaya called.

The {9-Spades} fell on the river, Tamaya bet 20,000, and Okawa called. Tamaya flipped over {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, having flopped a flush draw that didn't come in but paired his nine on the end. Okawa sent his cards into the muck and Tamaya took the pot.

Shimizu Doubles Through Nose in Surprising Fashion

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Gen Nose bet 12,000 on a {2-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop from the big blind, and Masato Shimizu shoved from the next seat for 36,000. Nose called with {q-Spades}{8-Spades} for a flush draw. Shimizu held {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for top pair. Nose hit his flush on the {5-Spades} river, but it followed a {5-Diamonds} turn, so Shimizu made a full house.

Shimizu leaned back in his seat in amazement after initially thinking he was finished.

Junko Applying Pressure

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

With about 18,000 chips already in the middle and the board reading {K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Hirai Junko was in the big blind and checked to her lone opponent, Alan Lau in middle position. Lau bet 8,000 and Junko check-raised to 22,000. After a few moments of consideration, Lau folded and Junko took the pot.

Dmitrii Kovalevskii Eliminates Keisuke Hikosaka

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

With about 18,000 chips already in the pot on a flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}, Keisuke Hikosaka checked from the small blind to his lone opponent, Dmitrii Kovalevskii who was under the gun. Kovalevskii bet 8,300 and after a bit of thought, Hikosaka shoved for 22,700. Kovalevskii called and the two players tabled their hands.

Hikosaka: {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Kovalevskii: {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}

Hikosaka had the lead with his pair of sevens but Kovalevskii could take the lead by hitting his double gutshot or pairing either of his hole cards. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing but the {8-Diamonds} river gave Kovalevskii a jack-high straight to take the pot and send Hikosaka to the rail.

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Daniel Demicki
Daniel Demicki

Daniel Demicki bet 25,000 from early position, about half of the pot, on an {8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} board, and Hiroyuki Noda called on his left. The river was a {2-Spades} and Demicki bet 28,000. Noda thought about 30 seconds and then called.

Demicki showed {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for two pair, but Noda had outdrawn him on the turn with {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

Celina Lin Felted

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Celina Lin
Celina Lin

PokerStars Team Pro Celina Lin had recently lost the majority of her stack and was left with just 3,600 chips, which she moved into the pot from middle position. Hirai Junko three-bet to 9,000 from the button, the blinds got out of the way, and the two players tabled their hands.

Lin: {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Junko: {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

Lin had the preflop advantage with the better ace, but Junko took the lead when the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} to pair Junko's four, although Lin also picked up an open-ended straight draw. The {6-Spades} on the turn was no help to Lin and neither was the {K-Clubs} river, so Junko took the pot to eliminate Lin.
