Tripodi Gets Short

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

After getting back into action, Daniel Harwood had a couple of raise and take it hands while short stack Clement Tripodi hasn't found a spot yet to get his stack in. Tripodi is down to around 14 big blinds, and that will get worse when the blinds go up in a few minutes.

Ludovic Geilich Eliminated in 6th Place (£22,950)

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante
Ludovic Geilich

The action started with a raise to 305,000 by Daniel Harwood in the cutoff and Ludovic Geilich called in the big blind. The flop fell {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades} and Geilich checked, Harwood continued for 380,000 and Geilich called.

On the {5-Clubs} turn, Geilich checked again and Harwood immediately announced all in. Geilich gave it some thought and engaged in table chat with his opponent, asking if he had ace-king. "So you got king jack?" Harwood replied back. Further table chat followed and Geilich had a difficult decision ahead with 2,235,000 behind.

Eventually, the Scotsman called and was in need of help.

Ludovic Geilich: {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Daniel Harwood: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The Scottish rail including Fraser MacIntyre was calling for a nine, but the river was a blank {10-Diamonds} instead to eliminate Geilich in 6th place for £22,950. Right after, some celebration for the Chinese New Year kicked in at the ground floor of the casino and the clock was stopped.

Geilich Keeps Firing

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

There have been a few bumps along the road so far in this tournament, and no doubt more to come, for Ludovic Geilich but he just keeps going. He has such faith in his game at this stage of the tournament that belief is almost worth some extra chips.

Geilich made it 285,000 from under the gun and got one call from late position Yuriy Boyko.

The flop was {2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Geilich bet 295,000.

Boyko stared him down as Geilich sat still. A minute passed and then Boyko folded.

Two hands ago, Alexis Fleur was in the big blind and received a walk. The next hand, he folded the small blind and fellow Frenchman Clement Tripodi received a walk.

Fast forward one hand, Eric Cech moved all in from the hijack and Fleur called all in for around 1,000,000 from the button. The blinds folded and the cards were turned over.

Alexis Fleur: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Eric Cech: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

After the board of {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, the start-of-the-day chip leader bowed out in 7th place and has to settle for a payday of £16,702.

Boyko Vs. Harwood

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 20,000 ante

Yuriy Boyko completed in the small blind and Daniel Harwood gave him a funny look and checked his option in the big blind. The flop was all low cards and Boyko check-folded to a bet from Harwood who grinned. “I need a base line.” Boyko said.

The next hand Boyko was on the button and opened for 360,000. Harwood in the small blind raised to 800,000. The big blind folded and Boyko had a bit of a dwell up but folded.

There could be fireworks eventually.

Another Tank and a Quick Break

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Yuriy Boyko opened to 225,000 from under the gun and the action folded all the way around to Clement Tripodi, who called. All players had agreed on a quick five-minute break at the end of the level, only the duo remained seated while the flop came {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Tripodi checked and called a continuation bet worth 225,000 before doing so again for 550,000 on the {6-Spades} turn.

The {10-Clubs} river completed the board and Tripodi checked. Boyko fired a third barrel worth 750,000 and Tripodi carefully checked his stack, spending a few minutes without being able to make up his mind. Eventually, the Frenchman folded while all opponents had returned from their quick break.

Cech Doubles Through Geilich

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Eric Cech in the small blind and he moved all in. Ludovic Geilich in the big blind asked for a count and found it was 1,100,000. A bit of maths later and Geilich called.

Cech had {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Geilich tabled {k-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The flop was a dramatic one with {4-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts} giving Cech a top set but Geilich his flush draw.

Necks on the rail craned to see the turn card {a-Diamonds} and river {10-Diamonds} brick out to double the Australian up.

Boyko Builds Stack

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

In a limped pot in a battle of the blinds, Clement Tripodi filled up and Yuris Boyko checked his option. On the {J-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, Tripodi bet 110,000 and Boyko called before the {K-Spades} turn went check, check. Tripodi then bet the {6-Hearts} river for 180,000 and Boyko raised to 600,000.

Tripodi was in the think tank and the clock was called on him, after half a minute the Frenchman let go. Fellow countryman Alexis Fleur then moved all in for 1,005,000 one hand later and claimed the blinds and antes.
