Lim Folds Out Beveridge, Yogo Rails One, Tate Doubles

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

John Beveridge limped from middle position and Singapore’s Min Soon Lim popped it up to 4,000 from the cutoff.

Both blinds bowed out and Beveridge made the call to take play heads-up to the {9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Beveridge checked the action over to Lim, who quickly bet 4,000 and the Canadian folded just as quickly.

We arrived at Iori Yogo’s table in time to see the Japanese player, sitting in the big blind holding {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, get all the chips in against a short-stacked player in middle position who had moved all-in for his least 21,000 with {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} to give the player with ace-queen the lead until Yogo spiked a nine on the river to send his adversary to the rail and stack up to 49,000.

Ronnie Tate is sitting one table over from Yogo and we passed by his table just in time to see the US player catch a timely double up. With a stack of just 20,500 Tate was looking dangerously short and raised to 5,500 from middle position.

The action folded around to the big blind who took one look at Tate’s stack and grinned, re-raising to 26,200 to put Tate to the test. However, it was one the US player would pass with flying colours and Tate made the call for his tournament life with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} which was in front of the big blind’s rather speculative {5-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The board ran out {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{10-Hearts} to lock in the double for Tate and he climbed to 55,000.
