The PokerStars LIVE poker room in the City of Dreams casino complex is once again calling poker aficionados from near and far for the third and final day of the 2017 PokerStars Festival Manila Main Event in the smoke-free Grand Ballroom area. The tournament comes with a price tag of PHP55,000, which equals approximately $1,092.
Throughout the previous two starting days, a field of 309 entries emerged to not only put the event on track to meet but eclipse the guaranteed prize pool of PHP20 million and action will get back underway at 2 p.m. local time. So far, 81 players have bagged up chips for Day 2 on Sunday August 6th 2017 and all those unfortunate enough not to carry over a stack yet can re-enter the competition today.
Michael Falcon leads the field of survivors thus far with a stack of 307,100, followed by Andre Peters (241,500) and Dhane Chainani (235,200), while Day 1a chip leader Elan Zak sits in fourth place overall with 234,200.
The eventual winner of the Main Event will be crowned on August 7 and all participants receive 30,000 in starting chips, the late registration and re-entry period lasts until the end of level nine and following break. A total of 12 levels of 45 minutes are scheduled for Day 1c and play concludes at approximately 11.30 p.m. local time, while the late registration of the players party at the nearby Chaos night club lasts until two in the morning.

Day 1b – August 4 at 2 p.m. (45-minute levels): 177 entries, 43 survivors
Day 1c – August 5 at 2 p.m. (45-minute levels)
The survivors for each of the Day 1s will reconvene for Day 2 (August 6) and play will restart with one-hour levels. All players remaining after Day 2 will continue on Day 3 (August 7), and the level duration will increase to 75 minutes each while the tournament will play down to a winner.

While Asian Player of the Year leader board contender is among the last three in one of the Side Events, the Main Event tables are already prepared and the action will get underway in a few minutes from now. A bumper field is expected for the third and final starting day and the waiting line outside of the Grand Ballroom is being cut down momentarily.

Some 45 players were registered right at the start and that number is guaranteed to rise over the next few hours, easily surpassing the PHP20 million guarantee. Among those to take another shot at the juicy prize pool are the following notables that were in action on previous starting days already.

Ayhan Agdas, Hermann Lee and Bach Hoang Nguyen were among those to fire another bullet after busting on Day 1b. Agdas was in action early on and bet-folded a flop of flop to a raise, dropping some chips as a result.

In one of the first hands of the day, Jaydeep Dawer flopped a gutshot royal flush draw and rivered the for broadway with to take a big pot off Mark Gruendemann and the Irishman would take another big hit to his stack soon after.
Gruendemann defended his big blind to a raise by Hoang Lam Bui from under the gun and check-called a bet of 350 on the flop. On the turn, both players checked and the appeared on the river. Gruendemann check-raised from 850 to 3,000 and called a reraise to 10,000 by Bui only to get shown for a flush.

Yixin Wu opened the action with a raise to 250 from middle position with Tom Or-Paz the only caller on the button.
The flop saw Wu continuation bet 300, which Or-Paz quickly called and the dealer burned and turned the . Now Wu checked, opening the door for Or-Paz to wrest control of the hand and the Israeli took a stab for 700, which Wu called without much hesitation.
The river saw Wu check once more and Or-Paz fired again, this time for 1,200 with Wu calling instantly. Or-Paz’s cards were in the muck as soon as Wu’s calling chips left his hand and the Chinese player scooped the pot without showdown.

There was a middle position raise to 250 with Badri Kedar Gosavi and Mark Gruendemann making the call before Chein Huu Nguyen pumped it up to 1,000 in total.
While the original raiser got out of the way both Gosavi and Grunendemann made the call to take the action three-way to a flop of which was checked all round.
The river saw Gosavi and Gruendemann check once more and Nguyen delayed continuation bet 1,500 but both Gruendemann and Nguyen folded after Gosavi check raised to 5,500.
Badri Kedar Gosavi chipped up without showdown, while the next one brought plenty of fireworks a few tables over. With some 3,000 in the middle and the river showing , Jaydeep Dawer and an opponent got into a raising war.
Ultimately, Dawer's bet of 8,600 was met with an all in for 25,000 and Dawer called with to chop it up against the of his opponent. "Well played," Dawer said while raking in his share of the pot.
