Qualifiers Playing on Day 1a

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante

Although the Main Event holds a hefty price tag of €1,100 for those interested, poker players had ample opportunity to qualify at King's Casino for a fraction of the cost. Over 200 (!) of them did, of which 44 qualifiers have entered Day 1a on a reduced fee.

Among them are Andreas Samuelsson, who's still playing in the King's High Roller, Marco Topic, Dan Olin, Fabian Gumz and Marcin Jaworski.

Neuville Sits Down, Wins

Pierre Neuville in the €5,300 King's High Roller

Pierre Neuville played Day 2 of the €5,300 King's High Roller earlier today but became one of the first eliminations by losing a flip to Eugene Katchalov. The 2015 November Niner quickly shrugged it off and bought himself in for the Main Event.

In one of his first hands of the day, Neuville was holding {A-}{J-} and facing a 3,500 bet from Saevar Saevarsson on a {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{J-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board. Neuville simply called and Saevarsson reluctantly showed {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a way worse holding.

Kamaras Pays Off Snasel

Level 3 : 100/200, 25 ante
Peter Kamaras
Peter Kamaras

Peter Kamaras is always a welcome sight at any poker tournament. With his friendly demeanor and glorious beard, Kamaras instantly sticks out in a crowd of poker enthusiasts.

Holding pocket queens, Kamaras bet 5,150 on an {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} board. His opponent Michal Snasel snap-shoved all-in for 15,000. Kamaras took nearly three minutes to come to a decision, counting all the possible combinations Snasel could have.

Eventually, Kamaras called but Snasel showed him the bad news with {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Kamaras slipped to 11,000, still plenty of room at this stage.

Good Start for Plotnikov

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Maxym Plotnikov already doubled his starting stack in the early stages. One of the bigger pots for the Ukranian came when he held {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} on a {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} board.

Plotnikov bet 5,000 on the turn and 5,000 on the river and got calls from Eric Lescot, who couldn't defeat Plotnikov's flush.
