Betancor Gets the Best of Trevillian

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Action folded around to the blinds where Pedro Betancor was in the small blind. Brett Trevillian jokes and motioned to fold even before Betancor could touch his chips. He then laughed and patted Betancor on the back, to which Betancor smiled and laughed as well. Eventually, Betancor decided to raise, making it 3,800. Trevillian took a look at his cards and called.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Betancor opted to lead out, betting 5,500. Trevillian thought for a moment, then raised to 12,500. Action was back to Betancor and he dropped into the tank. He thought for a while before raising it up to 30,000. Trevillian quickly moved all in and Betancor called even quicker.

Trevillian: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}
Betancor: {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

"Ten-six?" Trevillian said incredulously. "Are you kidding me?"

The turn was the {6-Hearts}.

"Oh man, there goes my ten out," Trevillian said.

The river was the {A-Diamonds} completing the board. That was it for Trevillian as when the stacks were counted out, it was discovered he had just a bit less than Betancor, and he was eliminated from the tournament while Betancor picked up the pot bolstering him to one of the larger stacks in the room.

PokerStars Cup Uruguay Champ Cracks Aces to Send Fernandez to the Rail

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Leo Fernandez
Leo Fernandez

Catching the action on the flop, with a board of {9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} Gustavo Prato, the winner the PokerStars Festival Uruguay PokerStars Cup for $9,600, was facing off against Team PokerStars Pro Leo Fernandez. Prato checked over to Fernandez who put out a bet of 5,000. Prato then moved all in with a covering stack. Fernandez tanked for a while then called all in for less with his stack of roughly 50,000 chips.

Prato: {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Fernandez: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The turn was the {K-Spades} putting Fernandez in a deep hole, but keeping him live with a draw to the same straight, but the river was the {5-Hearts} and that was it for the Team PokerStars Pro who hits the rail early here on Day 2 well before the money.

Sala Adds More

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

A preflop confrontation left Leo Giacoia all in for his tournament life. He was all in for roughly 16,000 and chip leader Halysson Sala called.

Sala: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Giacoia: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Giacoia was way behind and needed to catch a ten or some kind of straight or spade flush to stay alive. The board rolled out {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Spades} though which didn't improve Giacoia at all and he was eliminated from the tournament.

A Setback for Fernandez

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

With about 9,000 chips already in the middle on a flop of {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}, PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez checked from the big blind and Juan Guillenea bet 5,100 from under the gun. The button folded and Fernandez called.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and Fernandez checked. Guillenea bet 7,500 and Fernandez called.

The {3-Clubs} fell on the river and Fernandez checked a third time. Guillenea bet once more, 16,000 this time, and after a few moments of thought, Fernandez called. Guillenea tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped set of tens, prompting Fernandez to tap the felt and toss his cards into the muck.

Semi Bluff Fails for Andre Hajjar and Carlos Segarra Collects

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Andre Hajjar
Andre Hajjar

On a board of {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} with roughly 7,000 chips in the middle, Carlos Segarra had a bet of 25,100 in front of him. Action was back to Andre Hajjar and he moved all in for about twice the size of the bet. Segarra was in the tank when we approached. Eventually, he decided to call and their hands were turned up.

Segarra: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Hajjar: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}

Hajjar was behind but he had outs to any king or any spade, since a nine would make Segarra a straight and a seven would make him a full house. The river thought was the {A-Diamonds} not completing any of Hajjars outs and he was eliminated from the tournament while Segarra collected the pot.
