Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante
Michael Gagliano
Michael Gagliano

Following the turn of a {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board with about 14,000 in the pot, Manuel Perito checked from middle position and Michael Gagliano checked from the next seat over.

The river was the {K-Hearts} and Perito bet effectively 9,150. Gagliano called all in immediately.

Perito anounced that he had a ten showed the {10-Spades}, but Gagliano tabled {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} for kings and sixes to win the pot and double up.

Foxen Pays Off Howe

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Alex Foxen defended his big blind and check-called 1,400 from early-position player Dan Howe on a {q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop. Foxen check-called 3,800 more on the {9-Diamonds}, and a {k-Spades} arrived. He checked a final time, and Howe blasted out 9,000. Foxen thought about a minute and called, and he couldn't beat Howe's {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

In that same area of the tournament, Matthew Mendez and Team PokerStars Pro Jaime Staples have taken seats.

Level 6 : 250/500, 75 ante

Darren Elias raised to 1,200 from under the gun, the player in the cutoff and called and Randy Lew called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and action checked to Lew who bet 1,500. Only Elias called.

The {4-Spades} turn was checked by both players, as was the {10-Hearts} river.

Elias tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, but Lew had it beat with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to win the pot.

Eischens, Mariano Bust

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Boston Rob Mariano
Boston Rob Mariano

Manuel Perito bet 3,000 from the big blind on a board of {2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{8-Spades}{a-Spades} and Terrance Eischens made it 8,300 to go. Perito wasted no time before calling and then came out firing with what looked like 13,600 on the {k-Clubs} river. Eischens hesitated only briefly before jamming for a few thousand more, and Perito snap-called with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Eischens showed he'd been coolered with a nasty river: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a set on the flop.

At another table, "Boston" Rob Mariano of Survivor fame got his remaining chips in with {q-}{6-} at some point on a board of {4-}{3-}{5-}{q-} but did not improve against the {4-}{3-} of Nick Palma.

Pahuja Can't Muck

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We found Vinny Pahuja checking and calling a bet of 1,700 in a battle of the blinds on a board of {j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}. On the {a-Clubs} river, Pahuja checked and Zhaoxing Wang put in his last 6,150. Pahuja called quite quickly, and Wang showed him {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush. Pahuja tried to muck, but the floor was called and the ruling was that Pahuja's hand must be exposed: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and Lew bet 7,800. Tavss raised all in for about 30,000 and Lew folded.
