Life Outside Poker is a podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 35th episode, Connor talks with No Filter Poker Series founder Mounir Tajiou about growing up in Sweden, working as a high court judge, playing professional soccer, making a deep run in the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, and the new No Filter Poker Series, which values fun at the table over poker strategy.
We also hear from 1998 Main Event champion Scotty Nguyen, reigning WSOP champ Michael Mizrachi and Finnish poker legend Juha Helppi about their involvement with the No Filter Poker tour.
The action was picked up on a board of K♥K♣4♣3♣ with almost 700,000 in the pot. Harriwin Selvarajoo under the gun checked and Davis Modans in the cutoff bet 275,000. Selvarajoo made the call.
The 3♣ river completed the board and after Selvarajoo checked, Modans moved all-in for 300,000.
Selvarajoo went deep into the tank. "You've got the king?" he asked before calling with 5♠5♦. Modans had the king with K♦9♠ for a full house and scooped the pot, while Selvarajoo was left with 80,000 that he put in the blinds in the next hand.
Roberto Manfredi raised to 80,000 from the cutoff and was called by Giovanni Renna in the small blind.
Both players checked the K♦5♣J♦ flop leading to the 4♣ turn where Renna bet 160,000. Manfredi quickly folded.
Harriwin Selvarajoo: 10♥7♣
Giovanni Renna: K♥J♠
Renna flopped two pair so Selvarajoo was sent to the rail after the 3♠ river was revealed. Pascal Peraldi was eliminated at the same time from the feature table so the clock was stopped to gather the 24 remaining players on the last three tables.
After he scooped a big pot with a straight to reach the 3,000,000-chip mark, Alexandre Teulade limped from the button. Romain Mahiou in the small blind raised all-in for 560,000, Paul Tedeschi in the big blind called and Teulade folded.
Romain Mahiou: A♥8♠
Paul Tedeschi: K♣J♥
The dealer fanned a board of 4♥5♠10♣3♣6♥ and doubled up.
