PokerStars Open Maryland $1,100 Main Event Continues with Day 1c

The PokerStars Open continues at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, with Day 1c of the $1,100 Main Event taking place today at 11:15 a.m. local time. The tournament features a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, with five Day 1 starting flights taking place over four days. Players who advance from each flight will combine and return for Day 2 on Sunday, October 26, where a winner will be crowned.

Through two starting flights so far, 165 entries have been tallied, which accounts for more than half of the advertised guarantee. Only 25 of those competitors will be advancing to Day 2, all of whom have already locked up a min-cash.

Day 1a chip leader Paul Hunter (568,500) and Day 1b chip leader Maclaren Chatham (621,000) currently lead the pack. They both bagged huge in their respective flights and are the only two players left in contention to surpass the half-million chip mark.

Players will begin each starting flight with 30,000 in chips and blinds will begin at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Blinds will increase every 40 minutes, with late registration and re-entries permitted through Level 9. A 60-minute dinner break will take place at the conclusion of Level 10 at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 15% of the field remains and those who bag will be in the money. Day 2 will then start at the earliest blind level of the five flights on Sunday, October 26, where the event will play down to a winner.
