Day 1c Completed
Day 1c has officially come to a close in the PokerStars Open $1,100 Main Event here at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland. Of the 135 entries tallied during the day, only 20 players will return for Day 2 on Sunday, all of whom have locked up a min-cash.
Shuyang Han (494,500) climbed steadily throughout the day and applied timely aggression as the money bubble approached to propel himself atop the leaderboard. He currently sits third in the overall standings through the first three starting flights.
Finishing Day 1c second in chips is WSOP bracelet winner Casey Hatmaker with 365,000. Hatmaker will look to leverage his experience and big stack on Day 2 to set himself up for a deep run. Right on his heels is Roy Kim with 364,500, who is no stranger to the Maryland poker scene.
Baltimore native Aaron Pinson (210,500) managed to bag a top ten stack after falling short on Day 1a. He will be on the hunt for another big score come Sunday.

Matthew Zambanini, Arash Asadabadi, and Justin Arnwine were all back in action today after having played in previous flights. None of them could find a bag for Day 2 but they will have another shot at it tomorrow with with flights 1d and 1e.
Joe McKeehen, the 2015 WSOP Main Event winner, was also in the mix but couldn't get anything going throughout the day. He will be a player to keep an eye on tomorrow should he choose to fire another bullet.
Shortly after hand-for-hand play commenced, there were simultaneous all ins at separate tables involving two short-stacked players. Neither player was able to come out on top, resulting in a double elimination, which led to 20 players bagging for Day 2 instead of 21.
Day 1d will begin Saturday, October 25 at 11:15 a.m. local time, with blinds starting at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. Play for Day 1 flights will conclude once 15% of the field remains and those who bag will be in the money. Day 2 will then start at the earliest blind level of the five flights on Sunday, October 26, where the event will play down to a winner.
