The dust has settled on the penultimate day of action at Circus Casino Resort, with the 2026 PokerStars Open Namur Main Event moving towards a thrilling finale.
The 1,572-runner field has been reduced to its final nine, all of whom have locked up a €21,558 payday, and will be dreaming of banking the huge €220,800 first-place prize, as the destinations of the final portions of the €1,491,828 prize pool are set to be determined.
Leading the way into the final day is Austrian Henrik Veldhoen (9,315,000), holding a narrow lead over the Netherlands' Stan Van Dijk (8,440,000) and Nicolas Burtin of France (8,395,000). Veldhoen's stack primarily arose from a blind on blind battle with Burtin, where he doubled with a slightly superior ace, after he found a set against Manuel Schnur.
There is then a reasonable gap to the next set of challengers, led by final home hope Koen De Visscher (6,170,000), while Lulei Hu (1,165,000) and start of day chip leader Sebastien Guinand (2,660,000) bring up the rear.
Some of the finest the United Kingdom has to offer are also still in the running, in the form of David Docherty (4,145,000) and Andrew Hulme (4,000,000).

It is a final table stacked full of quality players, and it would take some time to list all of their poker achievements.
GRND on Tour ambassador Veldhoen has a shard trophy at home after victory in the 2022 EPT/UKIPT Mystery Bounty Cup, the biggest cash among his scores of over $205,000.
Van Dijk has had multiple six-figure scores online, and finished third in the PokerStars Eureka Poker Tour event in 2024. He also has a win in a PLO tournament here in Namur. His biggest live result is a second-place finish at the 2022 Battle of Malta for €140,000.
Burtin has career earnings of over $430,000, and has racked up a remarkable 23 cashes in 2026 alone, with plenty coming in Namur, while he also had a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Belgian Poker Challenge at the Circus Casino Resort.
Former Irish Open and GUKPT Luton Main Event champion Docherty and Hu both have career records exceeding $1,500,000, while Hulme's record is the most substantial, weighing in at over $4,500,000, including 15 wins and 12 runner-up finishes. His runner-up finish at EPT Barcelona in 2024 for €1,165,614 is his biggest score, and a big six-figure result also came in a Eureka High Roller at EPT Prague. Day 4 Recap
Only 30 players returned for the penultimate day, Guinand holding a substantial lead. Short-stack Yves Thalmann exited quickly, and Guinand stretched further into the distance after he came from behind to seal the fate of the last woman standing, Akiko Ota.
Hulme got moving when he coolered Ahmet Demituran, before Veldhoen busted Niklas Deitmer in 21st.
Guinand still held the lead at the second break, and had almost double that of his closest challenger, Schnur. Docherty was on the right end of a brutal aces versus kings cooler with Nicolai Striewe, and the final two tables were set when Conor O'Driscoll bluffed the river with missed combo draws but could not get past the top pair of Schnur.
Hu picked up a set to do some damage to Guinand, before Veldhoen brought Patrick Prijot's run to an end.
Striewe proceeded to jam the button into Hulme's big blind ace-king, and short-stacks Tobias Peters and Anuar El Bakkali then collided, sending Peters to the rail.
Burtin coolered fellow-big stack Schnur to take the lead in a kings versus ace-king scenario, and held the lead at dinner break.
Immediately on the return, Guinand took an aggro line in a three-bet pot from the big blind, and paid the price against Van Dijk. At the stream table, Veldhoen scored the double through Burtin, who recovered by overcoming Hu's set on the river.
Guinand ended El Bakkali's run in 11th to recover some of his stack, but then lost successive pots to De Visscher. Veldhoen had the last word when he busted Francois Depasse with rockets to set the final table and close play for the day.

The players will return to 23 minutes left at blind level 40,000/80,000, with a 80,000 big blind ante at noon on June 7, with 90-minute levels in play.
