"ActuallLy", Ace-Ten Is No Good

"usmc2doc13"
"usmc2doc13"

In Level 20 with blinds of 2,500/5,000 and an ante of 625, "ActuallLy" jammed for 61,000 under the gun and "usmc2doc13" called in middle position. All remaining players folded.

"ActuallLy": {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}
"usmc2doc13": {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

"ActuallLy" hit a three-outer on the flop {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs} and was one card away from a double after the turn {3-Hearts}. Unfortunately for them, "usmc2doc13" hit a three-outer of their own on the river {j-Spades} to reclaim the best hand and eliminate "ActuallLy" from the tournament.

Last Month's Second Pennsyl-MANIA Event Brought $376K Prize Pool to PokerStars PA

Pennsyl-MANIA
Pennsyl-MANIA

Following the massive success of the first running of Pennsyl-MANIA in May, PokerStars PA opted to fire up another one last month, this time with an increased guarantee. They bumped the number from an already-record $250,000 to $350,000, and the guarantee was surpassed once more, though it wasn't without a mild sweat.

This time, 2,026 entries — 1,274 of them being unique players — created a prize pool of $376,836, enough to nudge past the number by just about 8%.

Just like last time, the big prize money incentivized a deal between the final few players. This time, it was four players who split up the big dough at the close of the final day on Monday:

7"johnnyboat46"$7,386
8"Shovel344"$5,265
9"anteater9999"$3,753

"Slotwinna777" took the biggest chunk but it was a fairly even split all around as everyone got at least $31K from the chop. It took three shells for "Slotwinna777," but they still wound up with a handsome profit.

It remains to be seen whether Pennsyl-MANIA will continue as a regularly reoccurring tournament, but there's likely to be more big tournaments ahead either way. The advent of the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker means a mirror tournament should be announced soon for PokerStars PA. Keep an eye out, and PokerNews will monitor for any updates on the blockbuster series.

"twin232364" Flops Well To Double

"twin232364"
"twin232364"

In Level 18 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 and an ante of 375, "wnunley" opened to6,300 in early position and "twin232364" re-shoved for 58,400 in middle position. Action folded back to "wnunley" and a call was made.

"twin232364": {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
"wnunley": {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

It would be "twin232364" who wound up on the right end of the coin flip as the runout came {5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, giving them a pair of kings to earn the double. "wnunley" was left with just 2,300 and lost it on the following hand to be eliminated from the tournament.

No Longer In Contention

Less than 100 players now remain in Level 18 with blinds of 1,500/3,000 and an ante of 375. The following players have been eliminated from the tournament.

Cowboys Hold For "AFA5671"

"AFA5671"
"AFA5671"

In Level 16 with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and an ante of 250, "BirdBrain64" open-jammed for 40,200 in the cutoff and "AFA5671" called all in for less, 23,800 in the small blind.

"AFA5671": {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
"BirdBrain64": {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

"BirdBrain64" picked up a backdoor wheel draw on the flop {5-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Hearts} but watched it disappear as the turn {5-Clubs} gave them one more chance at hitting a two outer to earn the knockout. They failed to do so on the river {a-Spades} and the pot was shipped to "AFA5671".

Updated Chip Leaders

Play has moved into Level 15 with blinds of 800/1,600 and an ante of 200. The field is closing in on 300, with 287 entries now recorded and less than 30 minutes left until the registration period closes at the top of the hour. Of the 287 entries, 132 remain and "mord57" has shot to the top of the leader board with a stack just shy of a quarter-million.

"LuciferTheDevo" Onto Bullet Number Two

In Level 14 with blinds of 700/1,400 and an ante of 175, "A Frequent ?" saw action fold around to the hijack and opened to 2,940. "LuciferTheDevo" re-shoved for 18,800 in the big blind and "A Frequent ?" made the call.

"LuciferTheDevo": {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
"A Frequent ?": {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

"LuciferTheDevo" had two live cards and picked up an extra four outs on the flop {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} with a gutshot straight draw to the nuts. That gutter became open-ended on the turn {q-Diamonds} but took away their two live outs, leaving them needing to hit their newly-found open ender on the river to stay alive. They missed as {2-Hearts} completed the runout and the pot was sent to "A Frequent ?".

"LuciferTheDevo" was out of chips after the hand but wasted no time firing their second bullet of the event, receiving a fresh stack of 25,000 in doing so.
