"anamir" Wins Flip to Double Through "TripleAce418"

In Level 14 with blinds at 1,000/2,000 (250), raised all in for 28,657 from the button and "TripleAce418" looked them up from the big blind.

"anamir": {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
"TripleAce418": {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

It was a classic race with "anamir" pulling ahead after the {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades} flop paired their queen.

The {a-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and "anamir" faded a seven as the {j-Clubs} completed the board on the river securing their double up.

Last Month's Second Pennsyl-MANIA Event Brought $376K Prize Pool to PokerStars PA

Pennsyl-MANIA
Pennsyl-MANIA

Following the massive success of the first running of Pennsyl-MANIA in May, PokerStars PA opted to fire up another one last month, this time with an increased guarantee. They bumped the number from an already-record $250,000 to $350,000, and the guarantee was surpassed once more, though it wasn't without a mild sweat.

This time, 2,026 entries — 1,274 of them being unique players — created a prize pool of $376,836, enough to nudge past the number by just about 8%.

Just like last time, the big prize money incentivized a deal between the final few players. This time, it was four players who split up the big dough at the close of the final day on Monday:

7"johnnyboat46"$7,386
8"Shovel344"$5,265
9"anteater9999"$3,753

"Slotwinna777" took the biggest chunk but it was a fairly even split all around as everyone got at least $31K from the chop. It took three shells for "Slotwinna777," but they still wound up with a handsome profit.

Latest Big Prize Pool on PokerStars PA

Pennsyl-MANIA II followed up Pennsyl-MANIA, which established a slew of state records, and PASCOOP Main Event as the three biggest prize pools created in the fledgling market.

It remains to be seen whether Pennsyl-MANIA will continue as a regularly reoccurring tournament, but there's likely to be more big tournaments ahead either way. The advent of the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker means a mirror tournament should be announced soon for PokerStars PA. Keep an eye out, and PokerNews will monitor for any updates on the blockbuster series.

"TwoSheas" Continues to Pile Up Chips

In Level 11 with blinds at 600/1,200 (150), action folded around to "nansmasher69" who raised all in for 27,778 from the small blind and "TwoSheas" snap-called from the big blind.

"nansmasher69" was behind with their pocket threes and nothing changed after the {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop.

The {5-Hearts} turn gave both players gutshot straight draws but neither completed as the {5-Spades} followed on the river giving the pot to "TwoSheas" while "nansmasher69" re-entered the tournament.

Rollercoaster Hand Sees "staxthagawd" Double Through "PhillyScum"

In Level 8 with blinds at 350/700 (90 ante), "PhillyScum" raised to 1,400 from the hijack and then they called "staxthagawd's" 6,980 all in three-bet from the cutoff.

"PhillyScum": {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
"staxthagawd": {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}

"staxthagawd" was ahead with their made hand of sevens but had a sweat after the {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop gave "PhillyScum" a gutshot.

"staxthagawd's" nightmare came true after the {7-Clubs} appeared on the turn completing "PhillyScum's" straight.

"staxthagawd" needed some help and their prayer was answered as the {8-Spades} paired the board on the river, securing their double up with a full house.
