"Hondoribbia" Wins PACOOP Main Event for $36,401

AnthonyThompson • Level 40: 400,000-800,000, 125,000 ante

On Monday evening, the 2021 PokerStars Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker (PACOOP) came to an end with the conclusion of the $300 buy-in, $200K GTD Main Event, a tournament that attracted 851 entries and offered up a $238,230 prize pool. When the dust settled, it was "Hondoribbia" who took home the title, earning $36,401 for their first-place finish.

Thirty-seven hopefuls entered play on Monday night and picked up where they left off after Sunday's Day 1. "mlf5135" started the day as the chip leader while the eventual champ held a top five stack to start the day. Both players stayed atop the leaderboard after nearly half the field was sent out as there were just 22 remaining an hour into the final day.

An hour later, the field had nearly halved again as 12 remained. By that time, "and_porter" held the chip lead with "Hondoribbia" sat in the middle of the pack. The rapid-fire pace of eliminations continued with "and_porter" eliminating "1Boomswitch" in 10th place setting the stage for the final table.

Final Table Action

The final table lineup saw "and_porter" sit atop the chip counts while eventual champ "Hondoribbia" sat near the bottom. "Yuli215" began the final table second to the bottom of the counts so it was no surprise to see them bounce in ninth place after their ace-nine off was dominated by the Big Slick of "ecerille".

"and_porter" went on a little elimination spree and extended their chip lead after they dropped "FindingNemo32" in eighth place, then "P0stFl0pMal0ne" in seventh place.

Six-handed action saw the chips shuffle, as runner-up finisher "queenbee842" went on an elimination spree of their own, sending "MishkaMan85" home in sixth place while "ecerille" fell in fifth place and it was at this point when "queenbee842" held over half of the chips in play.

With "queenbee842" holding over half the chips in play with only four players remaining, it looked like it was their title to claim but "Hondoribbia" had different plans, as they eliminated their final three opponents and claimed the 2021 PACOOP Main Event Champion title along with a $36,401 payday.

2021 PACOOP Winners

Throughout its 69 events the 2021 PACOOP catered to a combined 24,571 entrants and awarded $1,923,382.85 in prize money. There were several multiple title winners, but none more so than Casey "superdonkeydave" Hatmaker and "TheBigSlick74", who each secured three.

"queenbee842" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($32,401)

AnthonyThompson • Level 40: 400,000-800,000, 125,000 ante

A series of preflop raises saw "queenbee842" get their 43,680,066 stack in the middle and "Hondoribbia" called.

"Hondoribbia": {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
"queenbee842": {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

It was a classic race with "queenbee842" looking too connect with either of their two overs, but the feat was easier said then done as the {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} runout ended their Main Event as the runner-up finisher.

"Hondoribbia" raised and then called the 9,877,951 three-bet jam from "tlamb43".

"tlamb43": {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
"Hondoribbia": {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

"tlamb43" was behind needing help and a three did appear in the window on the {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop but there was a lady behind it, giving "Hondoribbia" top set.

The {4-Clubs}m turn was no help to "tlamb43" as it left them drawing dead to the {9-Diamonds} river.

AnthonyThompson • Level 40: 400,000-800,000, 125,000 ante

"and_porter" raised on the button and then called off their 3,874,599 stack after "Hondoribbia" three-bet all in for 14,927,516 from the small blind.

"and_porter": {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}
"Hondoribbia": {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

"and_porter" had "Hondoribbia" dominated but a four appeared in the window on the {5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop.

The {k-Hearts} turn wasn't horrible as it paired the board but the {10-Diamonds} river eliminated "and_porter" from the tournament.

"ecerille" raised all in for 8,156,056 from the cutoff and "queenbee842" isolated from the small blind.

"ecerille": {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
"queenbee842": {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

"ecerille" was ahead with their pair of ladies until an ace appeared in the window on the [8a10aas] flop.

The {8-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn, leaving "ecerille" needing the case queen to stay alive.

Unfortunately for them, the river came paint but it was the {k-Diamonds} that ended their tournament.

"MishkaMan85": {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
"queenbee842": {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

It was a flip with "MishkaMan85" looking to pair either of their cards and they did find a lady on the {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop but it also gave "queenbee842" a set of eights.

The {6-Spades} paired the board on the turn, leaving "MishkaMan85" drawing dead to the {5-Diamonds} river.
