Event #20-H: $200 NLHE (Sunday Special SE) $100K GTD

Day 1 Completed

“jbrink22” Wins 2021 PASCOOP with Event #20-H: $200 NLHE Sunday Special

On Sunday, the 2021 Pennsylvania Spring Championship of Online Poker (PASCOOP) continued with Event #20-H: $200 NLHE (Sunday Special SE) $100K GTD.

Registration closed with 361 unique players rebuying 237 times for a total field of 598 entries. That surpassed the $100K guarantee by generating a $111,228 prize pool that was paid out to the top 89 finishers.

After nearly nine hours of play, "jbrink22" walked away as the last player standing to capture a $17,737.55 top prize. It marked the second title of the series for "jbrink22", who back on Friday, April 23 topped a 195-entry field to win 14-H: $50+R NLHE [Rebuy], $20K GTD for $3,970.31.

Heads-up play began with “jbrink22” holding a near 2:1 chip lead against “thpinal”, but the latter managed to battle back to even stacks before the tournament was paused to discuss a deal that was ultimately agreed upon, one that left $2,000 and the title on the line.

The two jostled back and forth for a while before “jbrink22” flopped trip fours and got value each street against “thpinal”, who had pocket eights. The last of the chips went in on the river and “thpinal” had to settle for second place.

"thpinal" Eliminated in 2nd Place ($15,737.55)

Level 39 (250,000/500,000/62,500)

In what would be the final hand of the tournament, "thpinal" raised to 1.14 million on the button and "jbrink22" called to see a {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop.

"jbrink22" check-called a bet of 841,750 and then checked the {6-Spades} turn. "thpinal" bet 1,430,975, "jbrink22" check-raised to 4 million, and "thpinal" called to see the {j-Diamonds} river.

"jbrink22" moved all in and "thpinal" thought long and hard before calling off for 8,677,052.

"thpinal": {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
"jbrink22": {4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The trips of "jbrink22" were good and just like that the tournament came to an end.

A Deal Has Been Reached

Heads-up play began with “jbrink22” holding a near 2:1 chip lead against “thpinal”, but the latter managed to battle back to even stacks before the tournament was paused to discuss a deal that was ultimately agreed upon, one that left $2,000 and the title on the line.

"tuningform" Eliminated in 3rd Place ($10,026.73)

Level 37 (150,000/300,000/37,500)

"tuningform" moved all in for 3,258,921 from the small blind and "jbrink22" called from the big.

"tuningform": {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}
"jbrink22": {10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop gave both players draws, but neither the {2-Hearts} turn nor {8-Clubs} river completed either. As such, the ace-high of "jbrink22" was the best hand.

"kiiLkenny" Eliminated in 4th Place ($7,191.01)

Level 37 (150,000/300,000/37,500)

"thpinal" raised to 684,000 from the button and then called when "kiiLkenny" three-bet all in for 1,789,172 from the small blind.

"kiiLkenny": {j-Spades}{k-Hearts}
"thpinal": {5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and "thpinal" won the pot with a pair of aces.

Four-Handed Chip Counts (full)

"HodorHodorHodor" Eliminated in 5th Place ($5,157.27)

Level 36 (125,000/250,000/32,500)

"HodorHodorHodor" moved all in for 2,678,100 from the cutoff and "tuningform" three-bet jammed over the top from the button. Both blinds folded and the hands were turned up.

"HodorHodorHodor": {7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
"tuningform": {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

"tuningform" had the superior ace and it held as the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

"twinspinz" Eliminated in 6th Place ($3,698.70)

Level 36 (125,000/250,000/32,500)

"twinspinz" moved all in for 2,199,620 from the button and "jbrink22" called from the big blind.

"twinspinz": {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
"jbrink22": {j-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and "twinspinz" was eliminated in sixth place.

"jahkeen23" Eliminated in 7th Place ($2,652.65)

Level 34 (80,000/160,000/20,000

"thpinal" raised the button to 364,800 and called when "jahkeen23" three-bet jammed for 1,317,335 from the big blind.

"thpinal": {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
"jahkeen23": {9-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop paired "jahkeen23" but his lead was only temporary as the {a-Clubs} spiked on the turn to give "thpinal" the lead once again.

The {q-Hearts} river was of no consequence and "jahkeen23" hit the virtual rail in seventh place.
