Bodyakovskiy Joins and Doubles

Level 9 : 200/400, 60 ante

Nikita "fish2013" Bodyakovskiy has just joined the tournament. He almost immediately doubled up, after a huge set up against Jason Mercier.

Bodyakovskiy, who finished third in last years $51,000 Super High Roller, raised to 900 under the gun. Mercier, on the button, made it 2,872. Bodyakovskiy put in a 4-bet of 7,600 leaving him with 21,580 behind and Mercier shoved. The Belarusian wasted no time and made the call.

Bodyakovskiy: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Mercier: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}

Mercier was shown the bad news as his kings were way behind against Bodyakovskiy's aces. The board didn't provide any help and even gave Bodyakovskiy a set: {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

A flying start for Bodyakovskiy and Mercier was left crippled.

Kuznetsov Exit

Level 9 : 200/400, 60 ante
Timofey Kuznetsov
Timofey Kuznetsov

This Super High Roller became a disappointment for Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov. The Russian was just eliminated from the tournament by Mikael "ChaoRen160" Thuritz.

In his last hand, Kuznetsov opened from the button with a raise to 750. Thuritz put in a reraise from the small blind, making it 2,400. The flop came down {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Thuritz made a continuation bet of 1,800. Kuznetsov called.

On the {8-Diamonds} turn Thuritz checked, only to check-shove after Kuznetsov put in a bet of 3,900, leaving him with 13,400 behind. Kuznetsov called which put his tournament life on the line.

Thuritz {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Kuznetsov {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Although Thuritz only had ace-high he was still in front against Kuznetsov's flush draw. The Russian needed a diamond or a five to double up and had some split outs as well. The {J-Hearts} wasn't one of those outs and Kuznetsov was eliminated from the tournament.

Polk's Bluff Fails

Level 8 : 150/300, 50 ante
Doug Polk
Doug Polk

Christoph "26071985" Vogelsang increased his chiplead a little bit by picking off Doug "WCG|Rider" Polk's bluff.

Polk opened under the gun to 750 and Vogelsang defended his big blind. Both players check on the {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop. The turn gave the {2-Diamonds} and Vogelsang checked again. This time Polk fired 1,091 and his German opponent called.

The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Vogelsang checked a third time. Polk fired again this time for an amount of 2,903. Vogelsang quickly called and Polk had to show {q-Spades}{j-Hearts} for a complete bluff. Vogelsang had {8-Spades}{4-Spades} for a rivered two pair.

Double for OtB_RedBaron

Level 8 : 150/300, 50 ante

Right before the break OtB_RedBaron found the double up he needed. Again it was a blind battle which provided the action.

Doug "WCG|Rider" Polk completed from the small blind and OtB_RedBaron checked his option. Both checked the {3-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop and the {j-Clubs} landed on the turn. Polk check-called a 648-bet before the action started on the {9-Hearts} river.

With four hearts on the board Polk bet out 4,200 in a pot of only 2,096. OtB_RedBaron had 11,221 left and thought for a while before shoving all in. Polk called, but his nutflush with {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs} wasn't good enough against the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, which gave OtB_RedBaron a full house and a double up.

Shakerchi Shoves

Level 8 : 150/300, 50 ante

Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi just shoved on the river in a pot against Timofey "Trueteller" Kuznetsov.

Preflop Shakerchi had raised to 535 from under the gun. Kuznetsov to his direct left pumped it up with a 3-bet to 1,625 and Shakerchi called. He then check-called a 1,912 bet on the {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop and was left with only 7,905 behind.

Both checked the {2-Clubs} turn, before Shakerchi shoved when the {a-Hearts} landed on the river. After a brief moment of thinking, Kuznetsov folded.

OtB_RedBaron Struggles on Second Barrel

Level 8 : 150/300, 50 ante

OtB_RedBaron hasn't found any success with his second barrel yet. He just lost two big pots and is left with only half of his starting stack.

First, he lost a blind battle against Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky. The Belgian opened from the small blind for 956 and Sulsky put in a 3-bet to 2,720. OtB_RedBaron called and he check-called the 1,576 bet on the [4s6dc] flop.

Both checked the {a-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Spades} was dealt on the river. OtB_RedBaron checked and folded to a 6,213 bet from Sulsky.

A couple of hands later he reraised from the small blind to 2,401, after Doug "WCG|Rider" Polk had opened for 625 from the button. He bet 3,492 on the {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop and Polk called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and OtB_RedBaron checked before he folded on the shove from Polk.

Mercier Takes a Big Chunk of Shakerchi

Level 7 : 125/250, 40 ante

Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi is getting short with only 12,000 chips left, as he lost a big pot against Jason Mercier.

Mercier opened under the gun to 562, but to his left Shakerchi made it 1,500 to go. Mercier made the call and the two saw a {10-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} flop. Mercier check-called a bet of 1,894.

Both checked the {2-Clubs} turn and Mercier fired 3,362 on the {A-Spades} river. Shakerchi took a moment before he called. Mercier showed {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for trips aces and that was good enough to win the hand.
