Benny Glaser Becomes a 16-Time WCOOP Champion

Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

After uncharacteristically drawing a blank during the 2024 WCOOP, Benny "RunGodlike" Glaser has resumed doing what he does best: taking down WCOOP events.

Glaser was one of 2,592 entrants in the $55 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max Turbo PKO event. A little over six hours after the tournament began, Glaser had all the chips in front of him and he'd captured his 16th WCOOP victory; this one came with $14,516, including bounty payments.

Although better known for his mixed game prowess, Glaser frequently causes havoc in No-Limit Hold'em games too, as he did in this event. It may have taken him until the 81st event the 2025 WCOOP to win another title, but Glaser coming out on top before the series' end was never in doubt.

Benny Glaser's WCOOP VIctories

Earlier this series, Denis "aDrENalin710" Strebkov edged closer to Glaser in the WCOOP all-time victories leaderboard. Before this latest Glaser win, Strebkov was only one victory away from tying with the British poker legend. However, Glaser has now extended his lead. With the exception of 2024, Glaser has won at least one WCOOP event every year since 2018, including an incredible seven wins in 2023. Is Glaser the GOAT?

Pavel Plesuv Is Among the Leaders in the PKO World Championship

Pavel Plesuv
Pavel Plesuv

Moldova's Pavel "silentm0de" Plesuv has won millions of dollars from tournament poker and has a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet to his name, yet he only has a singular WCOOP title. Of course, winning a WCOOP is ridiculously difficult, but you would think this superstar would have more WCOOP victories under his belt. He could well have in a few hours.

Plesuv is one of 61 players who progressed from Day 2 of the $1,050 World Championship of Progressive KO NLHE. A bumper crowd of 1,182 entrants started with high hopes, but most busted before the curtain came down on Day 1 proceedings.

Pleasuv returns to the fray with enough chips for tenth place, plus $3,640 worth of bounties already nestled in his PokerStars account. Though there's still a lot of poker to be played before we discover the tournament's champion, expect Plesuv to be right in the mix.
