The 2025 WCOOP Main Events are in full swing at PokerStars after kicking off September 28, with huge fields across both NLHE and PLO. Late registration remains open in five of the six tournaments, and their multi-million-dollar guarantees are close to being met.
For now, the talk is about Pascal “Pass_72” Lefrancois, who holds the Day 1 chip lead in the $10,300 NLHE World Championship. The Canadian came heartbreakingly close to the trophy last year, finishing runner-up to Samuel “€urop€an” Vousden for $659,899. This year, Lefrancois has put himself in prime position to go one better after bagging up 1,777,360 chips from his 250,000 starting stack.
Hot on his heels is Brazilian grinder Alisson “heyalisson” Piekazewicz, who is less than a big blind behind on 1,761,666 after firing three bullets. Piekazewicz is enjoying a strong series, having already claimed his first WCOOP title earlier this month. Canadian superstar Mike “SirWatts” Watson (1,663,424) sits third, with Austria’s Paul “pauL€FauL” Hoefer and Mikita “fish2013” Badziakouski rounding out a stacked top five.
The chasing pack doesn’t get any easier. Bernardo Neves, Preben Stokkan, Dominik Nitsche, and Jack Salter are all inside the top ten, while Adrian Mateos, Niklas Astedt, Blaz Zerjav, and defending champion Samuel Vousden remain in the top 25.
