WCOOP Leaderboard Heats Up Ahead of the Weekend

WCOOP
WCOOP

The race for the 2025 WCOOP leaderboards is starting to get fierce, with $25,000 awaiting the overall champion at the end of the series.

"FAL1st" currently sits on top, putting together a string of results that have earned him a 300–point cushion over his nearest rival. Right behind is Blaz “Scarmak3r” Zerjav, who already has three titles this series.

Brazilian powerhouses are also in the mix, with Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi and Yuri “theNERDguy” Dzivielevski both inside the top four.

The United Kingdom has strong representation too. Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi remains in striking distance, while Patrick “pads1161” Leonard continues to add points with deep run after deep run.

Other notables in the current Top 10 include "king153246", who has been crushing across both the Low and Medium leaderboards, Niklas “Lena900” Astedt, who leads the High tier.

Glaser Chasing Titles #17 and #18 with Double Day 2 Run

Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

The all-time WCOOP leader Benny “RunGodlike” Glaser is right in the thick of things again, with a shot at pushing his record haul of 16 titles to 18 in a single Saturday.

The British mixed-game maestro has advanced to Day 2 of both the $1,050 FL Badugi Championship and the $1,050 8-Game, and he’s already guaranteed cashes in each.

In the Badugi Championship, just four players remain from a 44-entry field, with $18,386 set aside for the eventual champion. Glaser comes in short stacked with 368,000 chips, while FAL1st leads with just over 4 million. Also still in the hunt are "isavevski" (3,094,500) and Terrence “Unassigned” Chan (2,926,500). Whoever bows out first will collect $4,395, while the next step up pays $7,081 for third and $11,410 for the runner-up.

"sweems" leads the way with 1,209,236, closely followed by Matt “plattsburgh” Vengrin (1,047,325) and Patrick “pads1161” Leonard (847,696).

Glaser will have to fight through an elite field that also includes Michael “merla888” Gathy, but the rewards are significant: $18,983 for first, $12,573 for second, and $8,327 for third. Those finishing lower down still bank respectable scores, with $5,516 for fourth, $3,653 for fifth, $2,683 for sixth, and $2,264 for seventh.

This was Astedt’s first win of the 2025 series while adding a third PLO crown to his already glittering WCOOP resume. His first ever WCOOP title was in PLO, winning 27-M: PLO [6-Max]. More Omaha success came in the 2024 $2,100 5-Card PLO (6-Max), which earned him $51,257.

Astedt’s WCOOP résumé stretches back to 2018 and includes victories across No-Limit Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, and PLO at a variety of buy-ins, from $109 up to the $10,300 Thursday Thrill High Roller PKO he won last year for nearly $190,000.
