Talal Shakerchi
Talal Shakerchi

It was a whirlwind weekend for Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi, who added not one but two more WCOOP titles to his collection. After capturing the$1,050 NLHE Deep Stack on Saturday for $39,725, the British high-stakes aficionado was right back in the winner’s circle on Sunday in the $530 Supersonic [7-Max, Hyper-Turbo], banking $33,157 and his seventh WCOOP trophy.

The Supersonic lived up to its name, with 296 entries blasting through a rapid-fire schedule to build a $175,000 prize pool. Shakerchi navigated the chaos, eventually overcoming "Team PokerBR" heads-up to secure the title.

Shakerchi’s latest victories move him to seven career WCOOP titles, further cementing his place among the elite online performers. His previous successes include marquee wins in mixed games and high rollers, such as the 2021 $5,200 8-Max Turbo PKO High Roller ($124,688) and the 2021 $1,050 NLO8 6-Max ($36,101).

Mikolaitis Claims $68K in $2,100 PKO as Neymar Jr. Falls Short

Dominykas Mikolaitis
Dominykas Mikolaitis

Dominykas “Mikensonas” Mikolaitis showed once again why he’s one of the most respected crushers in the online high-stakes scene, capturing the WCOOP 102-H: $2,100 NLHE Progressive KO for $68,543.

The event drew 134 entries, creating a $275,000 prize pool, and Mikolaitis topped a stacked final table that included Renan “Internett93o” Bruschi, high-stakes regular Sergi “srxakgirona” Reixach, Thomas “sandman201” Taylor, EPT High Roller and WSOP champion Alexandru “steakaddict.” Papazian, and Jakob “Succeeed” Miegel.

Mikolaitis, who won the 2024 $5,200 6-Max Championship for $172,983, secured his second WCOOP crown here. A huge $42,250 in bounties made up the bulk of his payout, nearly matching his prize money.

There was also a notable appearance from football superstar Neymar Jr., who entered the tournament but bowed out in 29th place, short of the money. The PokerStars ambassador did, however, manage to collect $1,000 in bounties before exiting.

Talal Shakerchi Makes It Six WCOOP Victories

Talal Shakerchi
Talal Shakerchi

Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi has been knocking on the door of a sixth WCOOP victory throughout this series, and he's finally knocked down that door and helped himself to that title. Shakerchi triumphed in the $1,050 NLHE Deep Stack and scooped $39,725 after defeating Vlad "dariepoker" Darie heads-up.

Shakerchi, who also has six Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) victories to his name, first won a WCOOP in 2020. He added three more in 2021, a fifth in 2023, and is now enjoying his sixth win.

A field of 203 entrants created a $203,000 prize pool that the top 23 finishers shared. Blaz "Scarmak3r" Zerjav, Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt were among the in-the-money finishers; the final table was equally, if not more, infested with sharks.

Shakerchi found himself in a three-handed battle with Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo and the aforementioned Darie for the lion's share of the prize pool and the glory of victory. Pardo fell in third before Shakerchi sent Darie home in second, denying the Romanian his second WCOOP gong.

Laurie Tournier

PokerStars' Laurie "LaliTournier" Tournier is only eight eliminations away from becoming the WCOOP Women's World Championship champion. Eighty ladies bought into Day 1, but only nine remain in the hunt for the $3,910 top prize and the all-important title.

Tournier goes into the nine-handed final table fourth in chips and with a realistic chance of becoming a WCOOP champion. Switzerland's "Diananas88" is the woman to catch when play resumes at 5:35 p.m. BST on September 28, closely followed by Brazilian duo "Lalaahh" and "mmAAnz," the latter thought to be starlet Marina Manz.

Marcelo Aziz Makes it Three WCOOP Wins

Marcelo Aziz
Marcelo Aziz

In December 2024, Marcelo Aziz fell at the final hurdle in the $25,000 WSOP Paradise Main Event for a career-best $4,600,000. Last night, Aziz went one place deeper in WCOOP 105-H: $1,050 NLHE Turbo PKO and became a three-time WCOOP champion.

This fast-paced one-day event saw the 136-strong crowd reduced to only one in less than four hours. When the dust had settled, Brazilian Aziz was the last remaining player. His prize? $40,478.

Aziz captured his first WCOOP title in 2022 in a $530 NLHE Turbo PKO event. His second came earlier this WCOOP in a $215 NLHE 7-Max PKO event. Aziz showed PKO tournaments are his forte with yet another impressive display at PokerStars.

$1,050 Stud Results

Danish grinder Christian "CMoosepower" Elgstrom enjoyed a fruitful evening at the PokerStars tables on September 27. He took down a pair of WCOOP events, bringing his total to six WCOOPs won.

Elgstrom first won the $215 buy-in edition of the 8-Game event, leaving 174 opponents in his wake and claiming a $6,981 top prize. Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi reached this event's final table, but fell in fourth as he hunted his sixth WCOOP victory.

The Dane couldn't bask in the glory of his victory for too long because he was locking horns with some excellent players in the $1,050 Stud event. A compact 32-strong field battled for this title, but the night belonged to Elgstrom, who saw Patrick "pads1161" Leonard bust in third before defeating Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi heads-up for his second victory of the night and his sixth WCOOP title.

The wait for a WCOOP title is finally over for Brazilian ace Alisson "heyalisson" Piekazewicz, and the wait was certainly worth it. Piekazewicz often runs deep in major events, but a WCOOP had eluded him under he joined 58 other entrants in the $10,300 edition of the Thursday Thrill.

A prize pool of $590,000 was up for grabs, and Piekazewicz got his hands on $193,234 of that princely sum, thanks partly to collecting $114,375 worth of bounty payments.

Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi and Pascal "Pass_72" Lefrancois were the first two finalists to receive money from the regular prize pool. They were joined on the sidelines by Pedro "PaDiLhA SP" Padilha and then the recent WSOP Online Main Event champion Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle, which left three hopefuls vying for the title.

Those three became two when Dimitar "KuuL" Danchev bowed out in third, before Piekazewicz defeated Samuel "go4gunners" Mullur heads-up to clinch the title and a cool $193,234 in prize money.
