Only 16 players remain out of 369 entries in WCOOP-71-H: $2,100 NLHE [8-Max, Super Tuesday SE], $650K Gtd. The biggest stack by a good margin was bagged by Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov, who ended the day by knocking out Niklas "Lena900" Astedt to add a large amount of chips to his stack.

The prize pool of $738,000 surpassed the guarantee and while all of the remaining players have locked up $7,103, most of the money will be handed out at the final table, including one player taking the $134,908 first-place prize.

Among the notables to make Day 2 was poker streamer and PokerStars Team Online member Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis, bracelet winner Daniel "Oxota" Dvoress, and Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane.

Day 2 action for WCOOP-71-H: $2,100 NLHE picks up on Sept. 8 at 1:05 p.m. EST, and PokerNews will be there to follow it to the end as they play down to a winner.

Niklas "Lena900" Astedt Eliminated in 17th Place ($7,103)

Level 22 : 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante

Niklas "Lena900" Astedt opened to 100,000 from the cutoff, Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov three-bet to 500,000, and action folded back to Astedt who put his entire stack of 3,353,744 chips into the middle. Filatov called and the hands were tabled.

Niklas "Lena900" Astedt: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Astedt was in rough shape and the {2-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop left him drawing slim. The {3-Diamonds} turn had him drawing dead and the meaningless {a-Spades} river came down to eliminate Astedt at the end of the day, and propel Filatov to a sizable chip lead heading into Day 2.

Chip counts of all remaining players and a recap of today’s action are to follow.

Van Fleet Eliminated by Veldhuis Before the Money

Level 18 : 10,000/20,000, 2,500 ante

Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet went all in from under the gun for his last 84,922 chips, Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis called on the button, and the blinds folded.

Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Van Fleet became a big favorite on the {5-Spades}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop. The {10-Hearts} turn kept things interesting by giving Veldhuis a straight draw if a queen were to hit the river, and the {q-Spades} indeed completed the board, eliminating Van Fleet from the tournament just before cashing.

Kade Eliminated on the River

Level 17 : 7,500/15,000, 1,850 ante

Vanessa "Niffller" Kade opened from middle position to 31,500 and Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis called on the button, as did "bagoch" in the small blind, and the player in the big blind.

The flop was {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Kade bet 94,336. Only "bagoch" continued as he raised to 375,000. Kade went all in for only 1,934 more and was called.

Vanessa "Niffller" Kade: {7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
"bagoch": {10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}

Kade flopped the nuts but was still at risk against the flush draw of "bagoch". The {5-Spades} came on the turn and with Kade just needing to fade a diamond, the river {k-Diamonds} sent her on her way and brought "bagoch" to over 1 million in chips.

Cochrane Flops Set in Battle of the Blinds

Level 16 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante

Action folded to Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane in the small blind who called and "GlobalHappiness" checked the big blind.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and proved to be quite an action flop as Cochrane check-raised after "GlobalHappiness" bet 14,375, bringing it up to 45,425. "GlobalHappiness" re-raised to 130,000 and Cochrane put in his entire 380,983 stack. "GlobalHappiness" called and hands were revealed.

Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
"GlobalHappiness": {j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

"GlobalHappiness" couldn't have been happy to see his flopped top two-pair run into the flopped set of deuces of Cochrane. The board ran out {9-Diamonds} on the turn and the {k-Diamonds} completed the board to send the pot to Cochrane.

Talbot Hits Turn to Double and Banters in Chat

Level 8 : 1,250/2,500, 325 ante

Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot opened to 5,500 in early position and Stevan "random_chu" Chew three-bet to 17,500 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Talbot who put his 107,824 stack into the middle. Chew called and players revealed their hands.

Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Stevan "random_chu" Chew: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {9-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop kept Chew in the lead, but the {a-Spades} turn moved Talbot in front. With Chew needing a river king or spade, the {q-Diamonds} sent the pot Talbot's way.

After the hand, Mustapha "lasagnaaammm" Kanit mentioned he had an ace "just to tilt him more". The three players joked around with each other in the chat, leading Kanit to muse that Talbot is quite friendly, especially after hitting a two-outer, to which Talbot replied, "hahaha so true".

"DingeBrinker" Cracks Cowboys to Jump into Chip Lead

Level 6 : 700/1,500, 185 ante

Andras "probirs" Nemeth opened to 3,285 from the cutoff and "DingeBrinker" made it 13,200 from the small blind. "Kraskata85" then cold four-bet from the big blind to 27,000 and Nemeth went all in for 85,907. "DingeBrinker" got his chips in, as did "Kraskata85" and hands were revealed.

"Kraskata85": {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
"DingeBrinker": {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Andras "probirs" Nemeth: {j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

"Kraskata85" was ahead but the ladies of "DingeBrinker" found another lady on the flop of {8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} to take the lead. The {4-Clubs} came on the turn and "Kraskata85" was drawing dead as Nemeth needed a king or a nine for a straight, but it was the {2-Spades} on the river to eliminate two and catapult "DingeBrinker" to the top of the leaderboard.
