Biography

Jonathan “apestyles” Van Fleet has been playing tournament poker professionally since 2003. He has crushed the highest stakes tournaments online, including the $25,000 buy-ins, since 2006. Along with being one of the most consistent winners online, Jon has co-written three books “Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand at a Time,” and coached thousands of students. He credits his success to his ability to staying flexible, having a play-to-study ratio of around 75/25, and having the opportunity to work and discuss poker with so many different elite players. With over $17 million in cashes, Jon has won numerous titles. In December of 2017, he had his biggest cash for $1,027,000 in the party poker millions, adding to his collection of titles (SCOOP, WCOOP, 888 Super High Roller, FTOPs, and many more). Jon won his first WSOP ring in 2019 by taking down the Super High Roller in Montreal. His profit in multi-table tournaments is estimated to be around $4 million. While GTO and effective use of solvers is the base of Jon’s coaching style, exploitation and maximizing EV are the main goals.

Jon also joined Americas Cardroom in early 2021 and is part of their ACR Pro Team. He also streams on Twitch and was nominated for best Poker Streamer in 2023!
