PokerNews is at the 2019 Potomac Poker Open (PPO) to offer live updates from three tournaments, but those are just a few of the 14 events playing out at MGM National Harbor.

Another was Event #7: $370 Short Deck No-Limit Hold’em, a tournament that attracted 22 entries and resulted in a $6,600 prize pool. Short deck is a relatively new variant that’s grown in popularity. It strips the deck of deuces through fives and make it so flushes, which are harder to make, rank higher than full houses.

Only the top three players got paid, and it was Ke Yang of Jacksonville, North Carolina who claimed the title and $3,300 first-place prize. Meanwhile, Tommy Hwang took second for $1,980 while Robert Salaka finished third for $1,320.

It was the second win in just over a month for Yang, who back on June 11 took down a $470 pot-limit Omaha tournament out in Las Vegas at ARIA, good for a career-high $24,392.
