Big Night for Bolden in $600 Opener Flight C

That's a wrap on the $600 Opener Day 1c session at MGM National Harbor. There were 134 entrants in the field, but only 17 advanced to Day 2.

None of the players moving on had a stronger performnce than Isaac Bolden, who finished with 731,000 chips. He'll come back for Day 2 with a massive stack.

Some of the others who bagged big stacks include Jonathan Butler with 577,000 chips and Rishi Tangri, who left the poker room with 474,000 chips.

$600 Opener Nightcap Closing in on Bagging

Chips will be bagged before long in the evening flight (Day 1c) of the $600 Opener, a $500,000 guaranteed No-Limit Hold'em tournament.

The session attracted 134 entrants and will play down to 17 players before calling it a night. Those individuals will then bag chips and get ready for Day 2.

At last check, the blinds were at 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante and 24 players remained. The average stack was at 167,000, or about 40 big blinds. So, there are still quite a few big stacks.

The Day 1b session, which started at 10 a.m., has concluded in the $600 Opener, a No-Limit Hold'em tournament at the Potomac Summer Poker Open with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Valentin Lita finished the session with the biggest stack by a wide margin. The poker player from Ashburn with over $400,000 in live tournament cashes, ended play with 905,000 chips. Lita's nearest competitor is Shahab Shirazi, who bagged 437,000.

Shirazi won the 2024 Potomac Winter Poker Open for a career-best $246,852, beating out 444 entrants. Albert Gardner isn't far behind Shirazi in third place with 423,000 chips he'll take with him to Day 2.

Field Growing But Registration Still Open in Flight C of $500k GTD Opener

Flight C of the $600 Opener at the Potomac Summer Poker Open is shaping up to close with another big field. But the good news is you can still get in on the action as registration hasn't yet closed.

At present, we're on Level 10 with the blinds at 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 big blind ante. Players start with 30,000 chips in this $500,000 guaranteed No-Limit Hold'em event, which means if you sign-up now you'll begin with 15 big blinds. That's plenty of chips to spin it up and bag a stack for Day 2.
