While PokerNews is focused on bringing you live updates from the $600 Main Event, we also wanted to share some winner news from earlier in the Run It Up Reno IX. There have been several champions crowned at the Peppermill, and tens of thousands of dollars awarded.
Event #10: $120 N.O.R.S.E. was played in a split-partner format and saw 100 entrants compete, which nearly doubled the $5K GTD by creating a $9,700 prize pool.
Coming out on top was the team headed by captain Bjorn Peterson, good for $3,490 in prize money.
The fireworks continue at the table where Scott Janik, Chance Gir, Loren Klein, Josh Prager and Kevin Hale all currently reside.
The latest big pot came in a hand that saw Gir raise to 1,800 under the gun, Janik three-bet to 4,300 on Gir's direct left, and Prager four-bet all in for his 15,200 stack. Action folded back around to Gir, who bowed out.
Janik made the call, going to the heads-up showdown with Prager.
Josh Prager:
Scott Janik:
Board:
Prager won the coin flip to double up, and unfortunately the table appears to have just broken up.
Chance Gir open raised from the cutoff, Scott Janik three-bet from the cutoff, and Loren Klein cold called the three-bet from the big blind.
Action came back to Gir, who put in the four bet to 16,000. That prompted Janik to five-bet shove, putting his entire 52,000 stack into the pot.
Klein folded, and Gir went deep into the tank. Clearly exasperated, Gir thought over the decision for several minutes, before finally electing to fold.
