Janik Bests Barnes

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Scott Janik and Brittney Barnes went heads up to the turn, with the board reading {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Janik bet 6,000 from the big blind, and on his direct left Barnes made the call from under the gun.

The river fell {4-Hearts}, both players checked, and Janik took down the pot with {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Fontenot Takes One Down

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With the board reading {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and three players in the pot, Josh Fontenot put out a pair of red T5000 chips for a 10,000 bet from the big blind.

An opponent in middle position folded, as did the player in the small blind.

The pots, bets and spots are all getting bigger as Day 1b heads toward the latter levels of the night.

Mastic Back at It

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Alan Mastic has been sitting on one of the bigger stacks in the room for much of Day 1b, and while Mastic's stack took a bit of a hit before the dinner break, Mastic has gone right back to work on Level 12.

His latest pot came in when Mastic bet 15,000 from the hijack, with about 18,000 in the pot and the board reading {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. His opponent on the button folded, and Mastic took in the chips.

A Few Eliminations

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Mather Binks a Seven

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player limped in from under the gun, and Glenn Uchibori raised to 5,000 next to act. Bob Mather three-bet shoved for 15,600 in the cutoff, the under-the-gun limper called, and Uchibori folded.

Bob Mather: {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Mather hit his seven on the {7-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, and faded the overs on the {2-Clubs} turn and {4-Diamonds} river to double up.

Barnes Gets a Double KO

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Steve Roselius jammed for 13,000 from middle position, and the hijack three-bet shoved for 23,300.

"I guess I'm all in, too," Brittney Barnes said from the small blind, chasing out the big blind.

Steve Roselius: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Brittney Barnes: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop danced all around Roselius and his sixes, but neither he nor the hijack would improve on the {q-Clubs} turn or {2-Diamonds} river to send Barnes the double knockout.

Just Quads For Majid

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Daoud Majid
Daoud Majid

Daoud Majid raised to 3,800 from middle position, then called a three-bet shove from Thomas Weber in the big blind for 30,000.

Thomas Weber: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Daoud Majid: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The table gasped after the {9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Spades} flop gave Majid quads, and the {7-Hearts} turn and {5-Hearts} river left Weber grinning and shaking his head, while Majid scored the KO.
