Smith Triples Up; Wells Earns a Knockout
Level 14
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Level 12: 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
A player under the gun raised to 8,000 and Wilfred Westerman three-bet to 24,000 in middle position. Sam Smith then moved all in for 34,000 in the big blind, and both opponents called.
The J♥5♠10♥ flop was checked through. Westerman then bet 12,000 on the K♣ turn, and the under-the-gun player called.
The 5♥ river was also checked, and Westerman showed A♦K♥. Smith, though, had K♦10♦ for two pair to win the pot and triple up.
At another table, the big blind was all in for 27,500 and up against Weston Wells in the cutoff.
All-in Player: A♠4♠
Weston Wells: A♣Q♥
The 5♦7♣2♥ flop gave the at-risk player a straight draw, but he improved no further on the 8♣ turn or 8♠ river and was eliminated.
