Day 1ef Completed
Jeremy Thury ended Day 1f of the record-setting $250 Roughrider Poker Tour Casino State Championship with a bang.
With 44 players remaining and only 43 surviving to make it to Day 2, Thury was in the big blind and shoved over the top of a preflop raise from Kevin Clyde. Clyde turned over two queens as he went deep into the tank. “I know you want to bag,” Thury told him. Clyde eventually called for his last 150,000, but Thury showed two kings and held on to bust Clyde on the bubble on his way to the chip lead with 516,000.

Defending champion Jon Maras bagged his biggest stack yet with 374,000 as he’ll be in pursuit of another title tomorrow.
Day 1f drew 342 entries to the Spirit Lake Casino & Resort in St. Michael, North Dakota, today, bringing the total field up to 1,655 after all six starting flights and smashing the record for largest prize pool in North Dakota poker history. Just 165 unique players are coming back for Day 2 tomorrow at 11 a.m. local time. Blinds will be rolled back to the start of Level 15 at 4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 big blind ante, and levels will be extended to 40 minutes.
The prize pool will be announced shortly after the start of play tomorrow as each player will look to grab the championship belt and $10,700 WSOP Main Event package. It’s already been a memorable week here along the shores of Devils Lake, but the best is still to come as they play down to a winner tomorrow.
PokerNews will be back providing live updates until the crowning of a new RPT champion.

Level 16: 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Kevin Clyde raised to 35,000 on the button before Jeremy Thury moved all in from the big blind. "I know you want to bag," Thury said to Clyde.
Clyde tanked for several minutes as he considered the decision for his last 150,000. He eventually turned over Q♦Q♥ while a large crowd gathered around the table. "You can't fold that," Thury told him. After another few minutes had gone by, Clyde slammed in his last chips.
Clyde's suspicions proved correct, as Thury turned over K♦K♣. The board ran out 8♦A♥J♦4♥4♠ and Clyde was sent to the rail on the bubble.
The remaining 43 players are bagging up their chips for the night.
