Owens Spikes River on Vaughan
Level 13
: Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Matt Vaughan opened to 12,000 from under the gun before Brandon Owens three-bet to 30,000 from the next position over. Vaughan made the call.
The J♣6♠4♥ flop was checked by both Vaughan and Owens.
Vaughan checked again on the K♥ turn, but this time, Owens bet 40,000. Vaughan called.
The A♥ river was checked by both players as they went to a showdown.
Owens showed A♣Q♦ for a rivered pair of aces, much to the disappointment of Vaughan, who tabled 9♦9♥ for a pair of nines that was good until the river improved Owens.
