Heckenkamp Doubles Through Hughes

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We found John Heckenkamp pushing all in for 13,750 into a much smaller pot on a {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Daniel Hughes called to put him at risk with {k-}{q-} and he was fading a combo draw in the form of {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The turn was a {5-Hearts}, filling Heckenkamp's flush draw and leaving Hughes drawing dead.

Heckenkamp already took down a preliminary event at this RunGood stop.

Scarlett Doubles Through Karn

Level 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Terry Karn bet 5,000 on a {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, and Alex Scarlett on the button pushed all in for just 550 more. Karn quickly called.

Karn: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Scarlett: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Karn missed his flush draw as it came {j-Spades} turn and {9-Diamonds} river.

At another table, RunGood Pro Ray Henson has joined the tournament.

Berry Forces Spriggs to Fold

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Two players checked to Will Berry on a {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop, and he bet 2,100 from the cutoff. Only Rodney Spriggs called, and both checked the {7-Diamonds}. On the {q-Clubs} river, Spriggs bet 5,200 and stared his opponent down. Berry quickly cut down his T1,000 chips and then announced he was all in. He covered Spriggs, who had about 11,000 left. The latter tanked a bit and folded, and Berry took down the pot.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.

Hughes Can't Talk One In

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

A player opened for 1,200 in middle position and Daniel Hughes three-bet to 3,200 on the button. His opponent called, and {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} flopped. The first player looked at his stack after about 30 seconds and bet 6,000.

"All right, I'll rebuy," Hughes said, putting his 11,000 or so in.

After a couple of minutes, the bettor folded, and Hughes flashed the {7-Hearts}.

Jennings Busts Spriggs

Rodney Spriggs
Rodney Spriggs

Rodney Spriggs check-raised all in for about 12,000 over a bet of 5,000 from button James Jennings on a {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, and Jennings called.

"I'm gambling," Spriggs announced, tabling {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

Jennings held {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Spriggs was dismayed to see his backdoor diamonds weren't live. The turn was a diamond but it was the {j-Diamonds}, giving Spriggs outs to two pair and trips, but the {3-Clubs} river was a blank.

Spriggs reentered the tournament.

Spriggs Folds a Big One

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Rodney Spriggs was in the big blind and he check-called 600 from Mike Tang on a {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop. Spriggs came out firing with 1,000 on the {q-Spades} turn, and Tang called. On the {7-Spades} river, Spriggs bet 2,000. Tang tossed out 5,600 after thinking awhile, and Spriggs took less than 30 seconds to muck the {j-Spades} face-up.

"Other one wasn't strong enough, huh?" Tang asked as he slid his cards muckward.

"It was strong," Spriggs assured him.
