Welcome to Day 2 of the RunGood Poker Series Hard Rock Tulsa

RunGood Series Hard Rock Tulsa
RunGood Series Hard Rock Tulsa

A nice little poker tournament broke out here in Tulsa for the RunGood Poker Series hosted by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Three first-day flights drew 363 total entries and culminated with 88 players advancing to Sunday's second day.

The $100,000 guarantee was never in question and late in registration for Day 1c, the pool swelled past $200k and ultimately ended at $214,170. The returning players will still have some work to do, as they will need to survive almost half of the remaining field to take one of the 45 paid spots.

Jesse McVicker will come in as the chip leader, having bagged 254,000 at the end of Day 1a. Miguel Hernandez finished with the largest stack of the Day 1b survivors (187,500) and is McVicker's closest rival to start the day. Notable entrants to make it through to Day 2, include Jonathan Gaviao (180,500), Justin Gardenhire (153,500) Ross Bybee (106,000) and Dan "Wretchy" Martin (101,000).

The day will start with 45-minute levels, changing over to 60-minute levels at the unofficial final table. The winner is set to take home $49,265. Hard Rock Tulsa has added $10,000 to the first place prize, earmarked for a 2015 WSOP Main Event seat. That money puts the actual pool at $224,170, with a top prize totaling $59,265 Come back soon as PokerNews will providing coverage throughout the day, starting at Noon local time.

And... We're Off

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On the first hand of the day, Lauren Blase and Bryan Campanello got their short stacks in preflop, with Blase having Campanello covered. Campanello's suited ace-king was against the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} of Blase who would spike a queen on the river to send Campanello to the rail.

Wretchy Busts One

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ernest Grant open-shoved all in for 21,500 from the cutoff and Dan "Wretchy" Martin moved his entire stack to the middle from the button. The blinds folded and Grant saw the bad news as Martin tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, dominating his {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The {k-}{4-}{7-} flop sent Grant to his feet and the {3-} turn and salty {q-} river sent Grant packing.

Lanning Takes Big Three-way All In

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Brian Lanning limped on the button, Keith Ferrera completed from the small blind and Steven Myers checked his option. The flop came {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Ferrera led for 7,000. Myers moved all in, as did Lanning. Ferrera thought for a moment and eventually made the big call, putting Lanning and Myers at risk.

Lanning: {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Ferrera: {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Myers: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Lanning flopped the straight, but needed to fade clubs and two runners. Neither the {j-Diamonds} turn or {2-Diamonds} river brought the dagger and Lanning eliminated Myers and crippled Ferrera.

Noone Bounces Watson

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Andrew Watson moved all in from under the gun and Matthew Noone reraised all in from right behind. Everyone else folded and Watson saw the bad news as his {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} needed help against the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} of Noone.

The flop of {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Clubs} was not what Watson was hoping for and the {k-Clubs} turn sealed it, sending Watson to the rail.
